how do you guys not understand why this is rude and unprofessional?
you wouldn't use "faggot" or "retard" on your multinational corporation's website would you??
As someone that is obese, yes its rude, yes it's totally unprofessional, but fuck it's funny.
I don't know why women get offended by this. I have to use the jumbo sized condoms and you don't hear me complaining.
They didn't make fat women feel bad, the fat women felt bad about themselves beforehand. A mirror would do the same job as this website.
But rubbing salt in the wounds won't help, now will it? Some/most large people hate their self-image already, so having a major business going out of their way to assist them in feeling bad isn't okay in my and others opinions.
Oh and also they fixed it I think:
That it's pretty rude? They could've literally left it as "plus size".
So more politically correct.
My friend is larger than normal and finds it find that she's a "fat girl" :v: in fact she openly talks about it sometimes because she realizes that she is at fault for it. Still cant help but feel bad for her, though
But age is one of the few things that don't change your gender...
[editline]27th October 2014[/editline]
Where did I say they are the same? Are you even reading?
I am saying they differ in ways that cannot be fit under the classification of gender as obviously, the gender is the thing they have in common?
in walmart in the girls section it says ages 6-13 and women section is also aged appropriately. At least it used to be
a girl is a young female and a woman is an adult female, that's the difference. i dont understand the issue here
This has got to be the doing of some miserable, asshole Walmart employee who just doesn't give a fuck anymore.
I was expecting literal "Fat Girl" costumes.
As much as I hate them, can't see Wal-Mart doing this.
I bet is was the asshole working on the site.
fatties.
And now I can say "fuck off" without feeling remorse.
im a fucking idiot nvm what am i doing
what are you doing?
rate dumb move along
some dumb trigender joke shit that doesnt make sense now that I think about it
Everyone bow down to this poster's personal opinion as fact.
How's about people don't be assholes?
it's easy to make fun of yourself than to complain, at least to me it is. And for other people to just go "Yeah I'm X thing, so what"
i get a little annoyed when I hear someone get hyper pissed over stuff like that when it doesn't seem that big a deal
I once called a kid fat in primary school. He cried and told the teacher; I got after school detention. So, yes, apparently the word "fat" upsets fatties.
Thank you for your extremely insightful contribution to science. I'm sure we've figured that one out already.
man so many facepunchers really seem content on being assholes
-on second thought, it wasn't that funny, and the thread is being way too serious right now-
Jesus christ this thread is appalling
There's no reason for a business to call people fat. It's offensive to people, even if it's pointing out the obvious, it just is. Plus-size is a term that exists, means the same damn thing, and doesn't offend anyone. How fucking hard is it to understand that?
[editline]27th October 2014[/editline]
It's insulting because society has made it insulting.
No shit that's why it's considered offensive
no word has any offensive connotation to it's existence, words that offend us offend us because we developed them to be offensive.
Bitch just means female dog, yet it's used derogatorily against people. Bastard just means fatherless son, same thing. Spic is a shortening of Hispanic, also used derogatorily. I could list hundreds of examples.
That's how words get offensive
So more politically correct.
They're asking for people's money. No shit political correctness might be necessary.

Maybe that's the issue :v:
One day we will have euphemisms for everything, and no-one will get hurt
Honestly don't get why "plus size" is even a thing. Why can't they be included in the regular sizes like men's clothing?
Its mostly just to make it easier to find, most brands run separate "plus size" lines made to look better on larger women, as opposed to the thin curve fitting stuff more common at lower sizes. This way women who do need plus size clothing don't have to keep clicking on things they think would look cute only to find it isn't available in their size. Mens clothing tends to exist in all sizes, since there isn't really much difference to it so a separate section isn't generally needed
Honestly, if you're fat, you're fat. Work out and stop eating so much if you don't want to be labeled as such. I'm not going to watch my mouth and use more polite terms because you don't like being called exactly what you are; it's like complaining about being called short. Get over it; if I were overweight I wouldn't kick up a fuss about being called fat because it's true.
If they don't like it they can use it as fuel for motivation to lose the excess weight they have.
Edit: Oh piss off with the dumb votes, think about it. Do people get offended by being called short? No. So why should you get offended by being called fat? There is literally no difference except that you can control being fat by changing your habits. That's the only reason people are sensitive about it; they get defensive because they don't like being shown that they're not taking control in their life. So no, I'm not going to feel like an asshole for stating the truth. I'm not an asshole about it in person I'm just stating my opinion.
it's like complaining about being called short. Get over it
Do you apply this logic universally or do you pick and choose what you're going to be an asshole to people about
maybe walmart should have put a trigger warning up??
When I was fat, and even to this day, I didn't mind when people called me fat in a non-demeaning way, you know why? Because I was fat, so people refered to me by what I was.
90% of the time it's your fault anyway for eating so much shit so get the fuck over it like I did.
this guy gets it
what is so offensive about using the word fat? that is the accurate description, calling it anything else is why obesity and heart diseases are so rampant, yet so overlooked.
what is so offensive about using the word fat? that is the accurate description, calling it anything else is why obesity and heart diseases are so rampant, yet so overlooked.
because muh feelings and muh society not accepting my gluttonous unhealthy behavior
ok roid raging conspiracy theorist
what? its what you are dude
I'm actually completely clean of all drugs including marijuana and would consider myself more-so a skeptic of information released by the government than someone who fully believes any conspiracy theory. Your (attempted) personal attack on me is nothing but a reflection of your unhappiness with yourself
[editline]28th October 2014[/editline]
but, if I was still going through that short experimental phase of my life I wouldn't have taken offense to that comment anyway, because it would have been true :)
If your biggest problem is getting called fat in a first world country where you have complete control of that aspect of yourself you need to grow some fucking thicker skin, people across the world are getting shot and beheaded for no reason and people here are crying over the word "Fat" give me a fucking break.
because muh feelings and muh society not accepting my gluttonous unhealthy behavior
Funny coming from a dude with an ego the size of Mount Rushmore and acts like cops are some illuminati organization thats out to get people.

I suppose you don't have anything to judge off of except for my history on this forum, but I've changed a whole lot in the last couple of months and completely dropped the ego. I do not view myself above anyone, I just also don't have any vices anymore and I'm a lot less crazy.
In this thread I'm merely expressing discontent with everyone being okay with behavior that is degenerative to themselves and the world. That is why I changed who I am. (and am always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who wants to follow along the same path of physical/mental self improvement)
because muh feelings and muh society not accepting my gluttonous unhealthy behavior
Okay, let's start calling rehab clinics "Wino, Stoner and Crackhead Zones" and see just how much that improves the amount of addicts who seek help!
[editline]28th October 2014[/editline]
Being polite to people is being polite. If you want somebody's behaviour to change, hold an intervention for them.
You might be wondering, "But wait! How can I tell that random person in the street that I'm holding an intervention for them!"
That's because you probably shouldn't be telling random people you don't know how to live their lives unless they're doing something like verbally assaulting someone. Y'know, for instance, calling a random stranger fat without warning.
