Polytheism
I thought that, too, but there wasn't much of a polytheistic population in America at the time of the drafting IIRC (except for perhaps some Native American tribes). It's likely an oversight.
I want to hear things about stuff that isn't the economy.
That's for the next debates AFAIK.
Romney and Obama both interrupt the moderator. Poor guy.
Oh god, Romney wants to grade schools. That shit hurts schools more than anything, because poor schools do shit and get more poor.
I want to hear things about stuff that isn't the economy.
Well, that's whats affecting most Americans and that's what they're interested in hearing about the most, so it's not surprising that they're stuck on it.
From what people are saying here who are a bit surprised by Romney, it seems like a lot of people on FP were getting all of their information on Romney JUST from FP, which is a bit silly to me considering how SH is biased as hell when it comes to most- not all but most, conservative people. It's fucking silly, they get on Fox's ass for being biased as fuck, when we're not exactly that much better about bias here.
Idk, why people are being surprised. It's easy for any candidate to bullshit on the debate especially with the amount of kids that just believe everything they say instantly.
Why did Romney just say he supports a bunch of liberal ideas he has hated on the last nine months? Good god, stop lying.
It's a strategy thing.
He tries to appear more conservative to get the republican nomination and then moderates out after that.
He's actually pretty moderate. FP and a lot of the media has painted him as otherwise, though.
-snip-
Moderator 2012
I'm just waiting for the moderator to yell into the mike to shut them both up.
Yeah, That grading system for schools would not work when you live too far to even register for them.
Good school in the area? Oh but it's 3 towns over. NOPE

I don't think he is that far-right leaning, and I do think he is decently moderate. But, Romney still has an insane amount of bias on certain tops, especially when it comes to wealth and education. And what he said at that point was a bunch of ideals that he has never supported, even as governor.
Obama just got the crowd to chuckle at Romney. Win.
I'm just waiting for the moderator to yell into the mike to shut them both up.
I feel like he should.
I think we should have a poll in the OP for who we think won the debate, if we could.

It's easy for any poster to bullshit on candidates especially with the amount of users that just believe about anything said on Facepunch instantly.
(Also applies to the whole internet/media.)
Not saying the cadidates are saying truth. The number of lies on PolitiFact being reported are fucking hilarious. :v:
here we go again about taxes
Romney couldn't come up with something to interrupt Obama with lol
I think we should have a poll in the OP for who we think won the debate, if we could.
Facepunch is incredibly liberal, it'd be kind of pointless.
Obama pulling the bin laden card
I hope a lot of people in this thread don't vote, Romney is a moderate lmao are you serious.
I'm waiting for Obama to flip some switch in his head and go "Now let me be clear" and suddenly smoke Romney.
Oh silly me it's over.
ZACH BRAFF STRIKES AGAIN: "Taken 2: They Took Jim Lehrer"
Obama and Romney are both cutting the moderator off.
its over
"and I wanna thank the academy, and my fans"
And now for your closing ten minutes.
And now for your closing ten minutes.
And they'll go over by five.
What the fuck was that speed edit? Did I miss a joke? :v:
I am disappointed. But I guess I probably shouldn't have expected much.
And now for your closing six minutes.
I HAVE TO RESPOND TO THIS!
30 minutes later
LET ME RESPOND TO THAT!
Am I the only one who tries to look at they both from a semi-reasonable standpoint BEFORE going, "wow romney u such a fkcn liar!!"
Romney has good points on the economy, but he has a bad position on social issues, such as wanting to make a constitutional amendment stating that marriage is only between a man and a woman.
that was fucking hilarious
CNN Poll

Romney - 30 + 19 -> 49%
1% unaccounted for~
