the only thing romney did was prove to me how easily he bends facts and talks in circles. mormons shouldn't be allowed to run.
I don't get the point of saying Romney "won" the debate. He won because he had a fake smile on his face the entire debate? Because Obama actually thought about his responses rather than resorting to a teleprompter? 95% of the debate was reiterating things the candidates have already said. Romney also added on the fact that he wants to grade schools. Because that works, right? I'm sure nobody's education has suffered because local school districts focus on grades and not on kids. Also reaffirming the fact that he wants the grandest military in all the land to poke our business where it doesn't belong I still think Romney is a joke, if anything the debate only reinforced that. [editline]3rd October 2012[/editline] I'm amazed he didn't directly mention Iran when talking about the military. He must be saving those zingers for the next debate!!!

It was broadcasted on the radio at the same time. Most people who listened to it said Nixon won, the people who watched it, said Kennedy won, as Nixon looks pathetic and like a wreck. Looks play a big part. Its disgusting and wrong, but Romney won in the presentation category.
lol, by reading your comments about how boring is it, I'm just amazed.. it was really interesting debate, I'm not even american and i enjoyed it. Mitt Romney has an excellent plan in my opinion.. lower regulations and taxes in order to let small business owners grow and hire more people that will eventually pay more taxes. He was real clear..
He was clear in that he consistently spewed that same rhetoric, but what he wasn't clear about was exactly how it will work and how the actual numbers pan out in detail. And the Keynesian economics practices that got us through the great depression say that what Romney is proposing simply doesn't work. But I mean we can make a choice to either learn from history or repeat it so hey we'll just see how it goes.

But honestly, a lot of the stuff he said either didn't check out or was plain stupid. Not only that but he came off, to me at least, as a huge asshole. I like Obama's reserved attitude more and that's why in my opinion Obama won overall tonight.
Wait are they coming back or is this it for tonight? I'm watching some lady talk about New Hampshire but really I don't even care, I just want to see Obama punch Romney, which I assume is what this is all about

Romney was quite aggressive during that debate. I still think of him as the root of all evil. I shall keep him as my avatar until the election.
The results are in! Through the duration of this broadcast, you should have taken 104 drinks. (chugging included) Obama said: 0 - "Let me be clear: 0 - references to Bain Capital 1 - Blame the administration (directly) 3 - uses of the words Millionaire(2) and Billionaire(1) ------------- Addressed Romney in the 3rd person too many times to count. (the majority of drinks are the result of this) Romney said: 1 - touts his plan to raise 12 million jobs +-11 - Small businesses 2 - Ronald Reagan's at least 1 - Private sector ------------- mentioned Obamacare multiple times. Complimented Obama on his Anniversary Both Candidates ignored their allowed time nearly the whole duration of the broadcast. Both Candidates argued with the moderator multiple times. I'm sure anyone that actually played along is well and drunk and or passed out right now. I wish I kept a better tally on how many times each thing was specifically said but oh well.
My sister actually tricked a friend into doing that via text without actually doing it herself. Fortunately, my sister's friend was using water, but now she's dropping waterfalls in the toilet.
can we have this in the OP as well as OPs of threads to come tia
it was added to the OP
Interesting, ABC's fact check says Obama spewed more bullshit then Romney.
Romney was quite aggressive during that debate. I still think of him as the root of all evil. I shall keep him as my avatar until the election.
I like that avatar a lot, and if I wasn't stuck with my current one, I'd steal it.
Very good debate.
Interesting, ABC's fact check says Obama spewed more bullshit then Romney.
I think I'm going to be the first one to say that I'm not surprised.
You Americans take your future for granted... you don't talk about politics as much as needed, you lack knowledge and eventually you vote for "democrats" because of some stupid bias that got stuck into your heads. this generation doesn't fight for it's own survival. why voting for someone just like that. I'm betting that some democrats in comedy central are gonna joke about romney tomorrow and that will affect your voting decision. I'm not telling you to vote romney, just saying.. GET INVOLVED. thank you guys. good night. (5AM in Israel, stayed awake for this debate)

It's all about presentation during these debates and Romney showed that he is confident in his arguments. Are those arguments personally against your opinion? maybe but you can't deny that he attacked and defended his stance better. And Iran doesn't really fit in today's debate that concerned more on the economy. Foreign policy will be covered next debate.

While both sides interrupted the moderator, Obama apologized and kept it short whereas Romney kept running his mouth. Why do people appreciate vigor over sincerity. Debates certainly aren't Obama's strong suit, but I appreciate that more than someone who forces their emotions and responses. Especially when they revolve around bad policy. It's like saying you prefer Fox News or CNN over NPR because they have flashy colors and NPR is the most boring one??? If someone bases their vote around that sort of stuff they really need a reality check
the only thing romney did was prove to me how easily he bends facts and talks in circles. mormons shouldn't be allowed to run.
The irony of it is that he was more moderate before he flipped on everything to get the vote of the more extreme republicans.

"I had 5 seconds before you interrupted me." *proceeds to continue talking for another 30 seconds*
Well, one thing's for sure, Romney did re-invigorate his campaign. This race just got a bit closer.

Who was judging who won? Was it that one guy who was directing the thing or was it a panel?
Obama apologized and kept it short
Obama spoke 4 minutes longer than Romney did. At one point he had a two minute window and spoke for over 4 and a half minutes.
