Romney said the navy has less ships than it did in 1917, and Obama replied with "We also have fewer horses and bayonets." "We now have these things called aircraft carriers, and you land planes on them." Yeah, Obama won handedly. it was basically no competetion.
"We also have ships that can go underwater." Best zinger of the night in my opinion.
By more flexibility I think he was referring to the coldwar-like situation in where Russia and the US are quickly developing anti-missile batteries and creating new ICBM's in response to each others moves, like the plan to have anti missile batteries in Poland by 2018. Its a race.
ok, gunfox
Okay, you made me laugh with that one :v: But he still got that one wrong, and I pulled out my KA-BAR and just stared at it. I think Romney had a great closing statement, and honestly, Obama had a much stronger debate tonight than the last.
But he still got that one wrong, and I pulled out my KA-BAR and just stared at it.
I don't recall him saying we had no bayonets, just fewer.

Which is amazing considering how he also bitchslapped Romney last week.
Has it been uploaded yet?
Has it been uploaded yet?
CSPAN is playing it again. they also stream online so
But yeah. Since WW1 we've been merging the bayonet and utility knife and really, the only difference between them now is that the bayonet model has a lug to attach to a gun. Automatic fire kinda made them obsolete.
he said there were less bayonettes, not zero, and even if he said we had none nobody cares because everyone could tell what he meant.
That isn't true though, the US Armed Forces would infact have more bayonets since every soldier gets a bayonet and as far as I know the US has a bigger army then it did when bayonets were primary weapons.
That isn't true though, the US Armed Forces would infact have more bayonets since every soldier gets a bayonet and as far as I know the US Armed Forces have never had the amount of troops they have now since the start of the cold war.
i'm going to go ahead and take a wild guess and say that deaths at the hands of our "bayonets" are far lower than they were in 1916, which mean that effectively bayonets are a lesser part of warfare anyways, i'm done entertaining this desperate talking point. it's clear to see from anyone that isn't gunfoxing all over the place that Obama was talking about how weapons technology had evolved.
I don't have to warn you guys, but AnnCoulter on Twitter is RT'ing a bunch of people jumping and going, "BUT WAIT, WE DO USE BAYONETTES. EVERYTHING OBAMA SAID IS WRONG" basically.
Bayonets on the prow of every vessel and the nose of every plane romney 2012
Don't forget the horses either.
Why do you keep referencing GunFox?
because GunFox's thing is to go into threads and freak out over minor inaccuracies when it comes to the military or guns
ALSO OBAMA SAID SHIPS GO UNDERWATER. They are called boats! obama's fact delcared wrong by CNN./FOX/ONDAIODNF
or at least it was, i haven't seen him in a bit
because GunFox's thing is to go into threads and freak out over minor inaccuracies when it comes to the military or guns
He just corrects people from what I've seen. He also wouldn't go in to a thread like this and use tiny inaccuracies to try and discredit everything Obama said in a debate.
He just corrects people from what I've seen. Theres nothing wrong with staying in touch with the truth.
he literally said that Prometheus was ruined for him because something about flame throwers
Prometheus was a terrible movie overall. I don't know what his statement was though, but I assume its like a lot of the same caliber where its a facetious way of saying something was bad. Like how someone in a thread recently talked about how they couldn't stand Atlas Shrugged because it broke thermodynamics.
What? It's true.
Because those are so useful in modern combat.
Don't forget the horses either.
Horses come with built-in bayonets, why are you wasting taxpayer dollars jobs economy china unions.
Prometheus was a terrible movie overall.
Because those are so useful in modern combat.
They are really useful, for not only very close combat in houses etc but also for survival and entrenchment.
They are really useful, for not only very close combat in houses etc but also for survival and entrenchment.
I'm pretty sure most if not all soldiers have a knife on person somewhere. You don't need a dedicated rifle bayonet to do all of that crap.
They are really useful, for not only very close combat in houses etc but also for survival and entrenchment.
Are you seriously arguing this? Wait, are you trying to discredit Obama or are you just arguing a minor inaccuracy for the sake of it?
Bayonets on the prow of every vessel and the nose of every plane romney 2012
With windows that can be opened at any time.
