I'm pretty sure most if not all soldiers have a knife on person somewhere. You don't need a dedicated rifle bayonet to do all of that crap.
Its still a bayonet, no competent army sends their soldiers into combat without a basic bayonet or fighting knife which is essentially a smaller version of a bayonet.
Are you seriously arguing this?
Wait, are you trying to discredit Obama or are you just arguing a minor inaccuracy for the sake of it?
I discredit everyone equally, however I'm just spreading the truth.

The point was never the literal quantity of bayonets being used, it is that the military has evolved past the need for certain things deemed necessary in the past. So when he said "we have less bayonets and horses too", it was in reference to the fact such implements are less significant to the military than they were in say, the civil war or the first world war.

I realize that, it was sarcasm. People do the same thing to Romney, for instance when he says Iran pretty much borders Israel.. it may be false but in reality they border Lebanon, and the strongest force in Lebanon are Hezbollah which are essentially a puppet of Iran.

Yes, but that's not even the same kind of criticism. Saying 'Israel borders Iran' but meaning 'Israel borders states that house entities that might aid Iran' has a very definitive difference.

Well a large part of the US public aren't known to exactly understand complex statements like that. Plus it isn't a "might", its a will. They are in a sense, like a Iranian border with Israel. This shit goes both ways to be honest, which is why presidential debates in the US are more comedy then they are politics.
Is there anywhere I can watch the debate? I really wanted to see it but ended up being called into work.
Didn't get to watch it. Who "won"?
Didn't get to watch it. Who "won"?
Obama easily.
Obama easily.
From an objective perspective?

Thanks a lot!

yea
From an objective perspective?
No not really. CNN declared a tie as the Obama lead was within the margin of error
Cnn has been leaning to the right since Romney won the nomination 3 months before the RNC. And its always a tie if romney loses.
[editline]23rd October 2012[/editline]
And I love that logic that a proxy war fighter makes it a puppet state. Angola is a puppet state of the Us and so is Germany according to that logic.
Didn't get to watch it. Who "won"?
Romney.
All obama was trying to do was attack Romney to try and get a reaction. If he was doing it to Biden yea sure. Obama was focusing on: Lying, Attacking Romney, Playing battleship.
Romney brought scrabble pieces to the game of battleship and tried to spell out president, but obama kept sinking his letters.
[editline]23rd October 2012[/editline]
But yeah. You're funny. Next thing you're going to say is that Ryan has integrity or that Romney is following the rules that his father has set in precedents.
That isn't true though, the US Armed Forces would infact have more bayonets since every soldier gets a bayonet and as far as I know the US has a bigger army then it did when bayonets were primary weapons.
The Bayonet has fallen out of favour within the US Army, traditional bayonet training has been discontinued and most soldiers don't get one anymore. Instead the focus has been switched to using a utility / combat knife as a standalone self-defense weapon on the off-chance someone is able to grab your rifle from you.

If you're younger than 40 and have a functioning brain: Obama
Else: Romney
Romney stuck to his base's talking points, pandered (complete with an inappropriate WWII shoutout at the end), and basically flubbed any statement which required cognition. Obama stuck to his talking points, didn't pander, and was the one guy at the table who wasn't a pencil sharpener. Still a load of shit from him too, but it's the least stinky shitpile, and that's all we can pick from.
Romney.

You're new to this whole "politics" thing, ain'tcha?
BROTIP: Debates involve rebutting things the other guy said.

My next thing would be:
Ryan has a p90x bod yo. hes fit to be VP.
No but seriously, Obama was too busy trying to attack Romney that he didn't really lay out any new ideas on how to help America.
Romney was just like "I Ain't gonna put up with that Yo, stop talkin bout me and talk about the matter at hand."
I mean

Obama isn't really working out for America.

You might have a point if Romney's economic plan couldn't be summed up as:
1. Reduce Taxes
2. Close Loopholes
3. Increase Military Spending
4. ???
5. Profit!

A partisan body isn't something you can cite for objective data.

Can't say I really care what some general thinks. I thought this joke ended hours ago.

A whole lot of figures with absolutely zero context. Lovely.

You're saying this as if he had a choice in the matter. He had to tackle the biggest economic crisis of the past few decades. America's economy isn't working out for America.

I think Romney's plan does need work.
He says he would lower taxes for all but the 1% of America. He believes this would create more jobs because small business would have to pay less taxes, thus having more money, and making more jobs.
Close loopholes could work, but they might create other loopholes.
Increase Military Spending. I like a quote "be able to engage in 2 conflicts at once"(Can't remember exact quote). But that may be a quote we need to stick with just incase.
This point is merely a speculation factor, I don't think we need to INCREASE military spending, maybe just keep it at a set level.
All in all, I think we need a change. Give Romney a try, hopefully as his term goes on his plan is looked at, and his advisors/members of congress make his plan better.

no.
a government is not a piece of clothing you can try on at the store and drop it when you feel like it.
I'd rather go with the guy who already has a plan rather than someone who will make it up as he goes along.

almost as if there was a major financial collapse just before he took office...

A plan that doesn't seem to be working.
and "clothes"
New clothes are better than 4 year old hand me downs?
I love how if you disagree with Obama or even support Mitt Romney one bit, Facepunch will give you shit for it.
A plan that doesn't seem to be working.
and "clothes"
New clothes are better than 4 year old hand me downs?
Actually, a plan that is working pretty well. This shit doesn't happen overnight, which a lot of people seem to forget. You can't suffer an economic collapse like we did and think things will be as good as new in two years.
Also, that post just said "Government is not clothing." And yet you stick with the analogy.
Here's a good analogy: An economic collapse is like falling off of a cliff. The fall takes little time at all, but the climb back up is long and hard.
