What game? Theres more game in collecting baseball cards
"Getting hats for preordering is bullshit. The game isn't about hats."
"Quit your bitching."
"TF2 is dead, valve sucks"
"TFC was better"
ITT: Butthurt about FUCKING VIRTUAL HATS.
When this game was announced I knew I was going to buy this because it looked potentially fun
Not gonna deny that this gave me more of a reason to :saddowns:
I'll be pissed if they don't make the old lugers vintage
I miss TF2 before it turn completely consumerist.
Agree'd
Still, I think this will be a quite good game, at least for that price.

I'm not complaining about just hats, but how they are removing that art-style that I liked so much...
I'm not really sure I approve of what Valve is doing with all these updates - it's endless tinkering with something that already worked perfectly fine. And all the changeable hats business is affecting that sterling visual design I liked so much.
And then I continued to not give a fuck about hats and then went on to have fun with the game. Fun, something of which a lot of people can't seem to have because they give too much a damn about items, whether they like them or not.
First, there was the ghastly gibus, natascha, the Scottish resistance and everything else that was nice to have.
Then, there were hats. Lots of them.
Just today a friend of mine says he would return to playing tf2 a lot more if they added a classic TF2 mode for servers as in no items but originals.
You know, you could ignore the hat craze and play the game.
ITT: Waaaaah. I get a free extra hat for a game. Waaaaah.
Nobody is complaining about free stuff. I just find it a bit silly that Valve is using the trading system in TF2 as a marketing system for other games. It has slowly ruined Team Fortress 2.
Why are you all acting like the game is dead? If you really all feel that way then you should probably expect a large influx of "vanilla"-modded servers.
I hate shit like this. Pisses me off considering the fact that steam doesn't like my credit card.
A game that gives you items by playing it?.
This could be interesting.
argh more hats in tf2 i can't have fun anymore the game is ~dead~
What makes you think I can't afford something that's 5 bucks? The point I'm trying to make is that it's fucking stupid to pay 5 dollars for cosmetic items that"don't affect the game in any way."
It's a waste of money and you're a tool if you buy it for that reason. There's a difference from buying a game to enjoy it, and buying a game to increase your e-peen size. Besides whenever I see someone wear that kind of hat, I just think to myself "Man, that guy is a fucking tool".
Many people buy the fucking game because, surprise surprise, they enjoy the game. The hats are just a small bonus to them.
And the reason I don't think you can afford it is because you're bitching over a game that's less than $5, stating that people who buy them are "tools". What about those who buy from the in game store? Many items cost more than $5, yet you don't seem to complain about them.

If it weren't for the hats, no one would even think to buy this game. Maybe a couple people, but majority would buy it for the hats. People bought the fucking worms game just for the hat.
Maybe 5 dollars isn't a lot to you, but most people it's a decent amount of money (Maybe you were just spoiled). Anyone who pays 5 dollars for some cosmetic item is a tool, don't even try to justify it. And to be honest I find the whole Mann Co. Store absolutely fucking retarded but this thread has nothing to do with it. So I'm refraining from typing out a long rant about it. But believe me I absolutely despise the store.
I honestly just had 4 friends buy this just for the pre order hat
$5 isn't really a decent amount of money. In Florida, you can earn more than that in an hour of work (minimum wage being around $7 an hour). Your Steam profile says your in New Mexico, minimum wage there is $7.50. So to say I'm spoiled for spending $5 on a game shows that you're either incredibly fucking poor, or too lazy to get off your ass and get a job and work for an hour.
Hell, you could do chores around your house or neighborhood and easily make $5 in an afternoon (assuming you're too young to get a job).
[editline]3rd November 2010[/editline]
But I agree, those who buy the game simply for the hats are idiots. Buy the game because you enjoy it/want to play it, or at least want to support the devs. Don't buy it simply for some cosmetic items.

Alright, alright I'll give you that.
I pre-ordered this the day it came out, because I like poker and I like the characters. But I'm sure people will accuse me for buying it for the hat.

Telling people to calm down by going to their level and swearing doesn't work.
$4.50 for a game isn't too bad, even if I'll probably play it once or twice.
It's 3,59€
My brains are telling me that I'm a fucking retard if I get a goddamn poker game for a hat, but my wallet is saying it has 3,59€ in it.
Nah, I'll skip.
valve is evil
Too bad I stopped playing TF2 a while ago. Not because it's bad, but because I played it right from the pre-order beta. But now I see it's because It's bad too. Gameplay and shooting is like 10% of the actual game now.
Anyone wanna get a poor boy this game and put a smile on his face? Add me on steam!
stop begging.

I would if I could get my own games.
But I can't get a job, my family only has one car.

I don't see how that is our problem.
