i like the cool idea that you can win the items in the poker game to use in tf2

Only people bitching are either those that are too cheap to pay 4.59$ or can't handle free shit
[editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
or you know, can't ignore the shit and play the fucking game
i like the cool idea that you can win the items in the poker game to use in tf2
I don't. Just watch as they release TF2 Kart and Tennis Fortress with more useless overblown items in each. You just know that people will buy this for the items, get them and then never touch it again. Valve knows this, nobody's that ignorant - especially of something they are directly involved in. Before you accuse me of being a nostalgic elitist and say that the game's still the same without trading and spammers, it's not. It's a huge mess of random useless items. 50% of the weapons and 75% of the hats completely go against the game's original philosophy of a consistent and unique colour scheme/art style, and almost all of the recent weapons since the Scout Update go against what the class was originally supposed to do. Listening the dev interviews and commentaries, TF2 sounded like it was going to be the perfect multiplayer FPS, and it was. Everything was flawless aside from a shifting playerbase requiring a few balance changes to the Spy and Engineer. The new maps, gamemodes and even the weapons in the Medic Update were fantastic. But then, something happened. It started tumbling downhill like a snowball, slowly becoming more and more of a problem. Then Mannconomy happened and I took a step back from being overwhelmed by new things and realised this wasn't the game I bought in 2007.
What happened, exactly?
My respect for Valve has plummeted since I realised TF2's decline and this money-grabbing scheme is just another example. What the hell happned to Valve.
Forgive me for bringing this up, but I honestly think the only game that looks like it can bring back that heavily thought-through, polished, unique, innovative MP FPS experience is going to be Brink. For me at least, it'll fill the crater that TF2 has left on my opinion of multiplayer games.
I had it bought by a friend since fucking AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
I had it bought by a friend since fucking AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
Or atleast he gifted it to me like around there, let's see if it's really this or I just got it horribly wrong
Everyone IIT is a crybaby or idiot. If you want a hat, buy it. If you don't want to spend money on something that has no value, don't and get over yourself.
I quit TF2 after the Enigneer update. 100 days ago. Glad I left, no regrets.
I pre-ordered this the day it came out, because I like poker and I like the characters. But I'm sure people will accuse me for buying it for the hat.
I've had people accuse the same of me when I bought Sam and Max: The Devils Playhouse. I got the game because I really do enjoy the series and the games that Telltale creates.
The cosmetic items are just a nice bonus though to it, and I'm hardly complaining about it.
Bought it before I knew about hats. Infact, I'm barely into TF2.
I want this game because of the game, not the items.
I want this game because of the game, not the items.
I want it for both, but I preordered long before this. I can't wait to hear all the funny lines. :3:
Christ stop bitching guys jesus christ it's a hat.
anyway, I may get that game.
Christ stop bitching guys jesus christ it's a hat.

TF2 has turned into a hat-fucking-trading game
ITT: people acting as if TF2 ceased to have any gameplay thanks to hats. :downs:
Seriously people, the game is still the same fucking TF2. Why the fuck do you care about the existence of hats? It's not like they hinder the gameplay. Yes, the community makes a big deal out of them. Does that mean they don't play the game anymore, just walk around with their hats? Nope.
Then shut up.
now determined to make a video proving gameplay still exsists to shut these poor babbies up lmao
ITT: People don't understand what I'm complaining about.
I pre-ordered the game way before Valve mentioned because I both enjoy poker and marveled over the idea of Strong Bad, Max, Heavy, and Tycho in a game interacting with each other.
If you don't want to buy it, then don't. And don't buy it for hats and reskinned items.
what the fuck happened to the heavy voice in that game?
I bet those who went "blah blah stop crying old fags and get over it" are all preordered the game
what the fuck happened to the heavy voice in that game?
He's just not screaming.
:raise:
He's just not screaming.
but its the same voice actor? i cant believe it.
It's not only the hats, it's all the weapons, and medals, and everything.
[editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
The gameplay changed so much from what it first was. And like you said, the community makes a big deal about it. I'm just tired of hearing/reading "100 CRATES FOR UNUSEAL HATR?????" or "VITA SAW FOR PAINT PLOES!"
You know the game changed into a piece of shit, and you blatantly know Valve got greedy.
yes how dare they methodically add class updates & community-created content for ~3 years
[editline]4th November 2010[/editline]
hats don't change anything, if you really hate them that much just get a skin that removes them

It's not because they added it, it's because they added to much.
Costs about the same as a crate key, except with more items
Plus it has a minigun for the heavy, one of my best classes
Might be interesting
It's not because they added it, it's because they added to much.
ah, i can see where you are coming from then. i must admit, it is becoming a bit excessive.
I bet those who went "blah blah stop crying old fags and get over it" are all preordered the game
I didn't, neither do I plan to. Never preordered a game for the hats.
Is it bad if I actually wanted the game prior to the hats being announced, because telltale dishes out genius writing time and time again and have already won me over with

:57
I already pre-ordered this before the news of hats and whatnot. Not because I thought there would be hats or whatever, but because I know Telltale makes pretty awesome games.
It's almost as if the fact that you get a free item upon buying the game is deterring them from getting it
It's 10% off if nothing else, and you don't even have to use the hat
