Yes the bullying is awful and this really shouldn't have happened, but it's not like he was gay and his liking for ponies was unchangeable. Sometimes you have to change yourself to be treated nicely, this really shouldn't have to be the case, but bullies will always go after those who are different.
So why preach that the kid should change and not like a show? Why not preach that the bullies should stop treating people like shit to fuel their own ego stroking? [editline]4th February 2014[/editline]
You scum bag.
Funny that people are going to dumb this solely because he has a pony avatar. Because that totally voids the fact that Trooper7's post is straight up sociopathic.
wow that's horrible.
when I was 11 I watched As Told by Ginger and Totally Spies get at me
I never got into as told by ginger when I was a kid, but totally spies was my favorite show.
Laughter's part of the healing process, mate. (Even if it isn't very funny).
um except random internet nerds who didn't know the kid don't have anything to "heal"
exactly, so he deserved it.
What the fucking hell is wrong with your mind? So I should go drive someone to suicide because they aren't female and watch a particular TV show? You are a fucking sick monster.
Yeah I heard about this a little while ago. The bad thing is that people all over the internet are still insulting him and joking about his attempted suicide despite him being only eleven years old just cause he liked the show (although some people could be making the insults and crude low-brow jokes because they know it's easy trolling and they know they'll get a reaction out of people. Still doesn't really excuse it though.). Some people are even victim-blaming (ex: "Oh he was probably incredibly socially awkward and shoved the show in everyone's faces to the point that they were sick of it. So it's no wonder why he got bullied so much!"). It's definitely a tragic situation and I hope he recovers.
Funny that people are going to dumb this solely because he has a pony avatar. Because that totally voids the fact that Trooper7's post is straight up sociopathic.
I'm pretty sure Trooper7's post was sarcastic.
Holy fuck, man.

Dude.

You scum bag.

What the fucking hell is wrong with your mind? They are just as bad as stalkers, except you can put them in court unless this sorta stuff happens (but then again they are underage and cannot be tried wholly so eh) Bullying is a problem that needs to be dealt with.
I'm pretty sure Trooper7's post was sarcastic.
They're are some things I do sarcastically, that was not one of them. Honestly surprised people give a shit, One less brony in the world, who can be upset about that.
what i heard is he's permanently blind now with severe brain damage, even if he does wake up. You're fucking scum tr00per7 a child almost died
you guys didn't quite get it, he was being sarcastic, pointing out that even if he's not perfectly in a TV show's target demographic that doesn't mean the bullying was justified
not really a reason for sarcastic jokes imo
They're are some things I do sarcastically, that was not one of them. Honestly surprised people give a shit, One less brony in the world, who can be upset about that.
Now it just seems like you're trolling.
They're are some things I do sarcastically, that was not one of them.
what i heard is he's permanently blind now with severe brain damage, even if he does wake up.
So now blindness, and a coma? Shit.

Especially not an 11 year old kid. Sorry if I come off a bit harsh, bullying is kind of a big deal to me.
They're are some things I do sarcastically, that was not one of them. Honestly surprised people give a shit, One less brony in the world, who can be upset about that.
Jesus christ dude, get help. Like seriously. Please, for the love of god, get off the computer, go outside, go see a therapist or something.
I guess his view on this whole show changed permanently. [sp]hue hue[/sp]
Sometimes you have to change yourself to be treated nicely, this really shouldn't have to be the case, but bullies will always go after those who are different.
And doing that will only make the situation enter an infinite loop.
not really a reason for sarcastic jokes imo
well the original post he was replying too is pretty fucked up too if you think about it "an 11 year old watching the show isn't a reason for bullying at that age" "yeah but he's a dude" probably not the intended message but that's how it sounds
Why are we even acknowledging trooper's post?
Bullying drove me out of multiple high schools and every job I've have ever had. Not everyone is able to just 'snap out' of the depression or sense of futility when the world gangs up on you. I feel awful for this kid and hope he is one of the rare few that has ability to turn this around. He has a supportive family, and that's more than some have, but brain damage is a bitch.
Have any of you actually watched MLP? It's seriously not that bad. I would go as far as to compare it to the "Power Puff Girls" of this generation. And Power Puff Girls were cool as fuck you can't deny that, sure they didn't have the 90% awful fan base but that doesn't matter for this kid, he was just enjoying a good show and he got shat on for it. Having said this it isn't surprising in the least, I'm sure there are plenty of kids who have killed themselves because they liked Barbies but they never got the media's attention of course, it's not sensational enough.

We don't need a pointless debate on whether it's ok to like MLP or not.

I'm not sure you dips can discern sarcasm and shitposting
Have any of you actually watched MLP?
stop right there
They're are some things I do sarcastically, that was not one of them. Honestly surprised people give a shit, One less SS Officer in the world, who can be upset about that.
Agreed. Why does the world shed crocodile’s tears over the richly merited fate of a small brony minority? … I ask Pvt. Martin, I ask the Facepunch people: Are you prepared to receive in your midst these well-poisoners of the TV-watching people and the universal spirit of good TV? We would willingly give everyone of them a free steamer-ticket and a thousand-mark note for travelling expenses, if we could get rid of them.
I feel like I'm being sold eternal salvation
