This is terrible. And just for watching a show meant for girls? It is saddening that some people are still going to insult the kid because "LOLOLOLOLOL u watch girl show u faggot, Stop liking what I don't!" The intolerance in some people is disgusting.
11 year olds don't and that's why this happens. It's okay to think "what dicks them kids are" at this age when you have a decent understanding of differences and morals, but at that age all you think is "hah what a queer watching a girls show faggot" (which is unfortunate but the brutal truth, they also don't understand how bullying affects others either)
When I was 11, I swore in every sentence. Thank God I don't nowadays.
All the self-esteem BS that's been indoctrinated into kids for the last 30 years is finally starting to rear it's ugly head. That whole line about bullies really being insecure is an old wive's tale. Studies have shown that bullies often have more self-esteem and confidence than the average kid. We've also told kids that if you don't feel great about yourself, then there's something wrong with you, which is complete BS. If you feel bad about being fat, then you should work at changing it. If you feel bad about watching My Little Pony, then you should stop watching it. Instead we've taught kids that you should do whatever you want and if that doesn't work out for you, then there's a problem with you, not with the actions that you are doing. With all that said this child's attempted suicide is a tragedy and any bullying is despicable. I just think we have made kids more prone to both bullying and being strongly affected by bullying.
Why aren't kids taught to fight back. Call me old fashion but bulling was only a problem when I was in school for the kids who ran to the teacher every 5 mins.

I think this needs to be posted. Anyone who thinks this is justified in any way has obviously never been bullied.

In reality, everyone has been both a victim and a bully, whether they tried to or not. Maybe they were trying to be funny, or just trying to fit in, but everyone's been in both positions. Saying that bullies "only do it because they have problems at home" (which is what I was taught), or that they're insecure, or whatever just makes people go "yeah I might be an asshole but I've never bullied anyone". Ever notice how, when talking about bullying, everyone has a story about how they've been a victim, but there's never someone who says they were a bully?
The fandom has been really sweet with raising his family a shitton of money and making giftart and the voice actors have called up and left him little voice messages, it's all very heartwarming. Bullying sucks at that age, when you grow older it's easier to ignore it but when you're 11 it really gets to you.
Bullying is stressful even when nothing seems to stop it. I've been through it elementary to freshman year in high school. The constant harassment and emotional pain from it isn't necessarily that easy to deal with. It finally stopped and I was thankful for that, but the effects remain scarred into you mind. I've had times where I would stand there with a knife for minutes, but put it back down. So to all of you saying "he can get over it", it's much harder than you think.

Garry is stealing my monies. But in a more serious manner, when your 13, you tend to retaliate more. So it is easier to ignore or face. But if you are a Brony, its not gay unless you are a clopper or something like that(Pardon my terminology, I don't pay exclusive attention to the fandom).
if it was neckbeard fapping to the show i sure could
judging by the current state of affairs and this post, senseless and immature hatred and bigotry must be the average in Russia (the country flagdog claims you are posting from).
What the fuck is wrong with you? he's a PERSON
That post was [sp]a slightly altered Hitler quote[/sp], intended as satire to point out how absurd tr00per's post was (notice how he edited the quote to show it through that "SS officer" filter).
He brought it on himself watching a cartoon aimed a 6 year old girls and commiting suicide is the ultimate act of selfishness Only a piece of shit would even consider suicide, theres a thousand and one better courses of action against bullying (User was banned for this post ("Insensitive Shitposting" - Megafan)) (User was banned for this post ("Extended - Ban evasion on an alt" - Megafan)) (User was permabanned for this post ("Extended - came back on another alt - Bye" - Craptasket))

This story breaks my fucking heart every time i read about it. I hope these bullies are punished to the fullest extent of the law and then some.
...watches My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic for its moral values and relatable characters.
Yeah, the normal ones.
-snip, i'm dumb-
If he has the knowledge to hang himself then hes smart enough to know theres other options, theres absolutely no excuse for suicide past ultimate greed and extreme selfishness

Imagine being such a piece of shit you wish others dead based on what cartoons they watch must be terrible
Fucking disgusting. I used to watch Barney when I was like 8, and stopped because I was afraid other kids would call me a baby or something. I later found out that pretty much everyone watched Barney and no one really cared. I guess people use MLP as an excuse to terrorize and hurt others.
Why aren't kids taught to fight back. Call me old fashion but bulling was only a problem when I was in school for the kids who ran to the teacher every 5 mins.
I don't think you appreciate how much of a legal and moral nightmare that would turn into. If we told kids to just beat the shit out of people who give them trouble then yeah, nobody would bully them, but at the same time you've given them a really horrible message. I do think bullies need far harsher punishments than they tend to get, and sometimes the only thing people like that understand is a solid punch, but I would never want schools to condone that kind of solution.

Which really surprised me considering my class, like in most other high schools, is incredibly intolerant and toxic.
As someone who's been depressed for a while and also bullied for an even longer time and who has had the opportunity to talk to psychologists, psychiatrists, formerly and currently depressed people on the matter, I think I know what I'm talking about. Bullying will fuck up your self esteem and run you to the ground, yes. It won't bring you to the verge of suicide however, and if you are actually considering suicide, getting rid of bullies won't solve your case. Proper care will.
have you had rocks thrown at you while you walk home from school. serious question.
