So for those with a mild case of astrophobia will i live to be at least 50 :v:
The thought of instantly being wiped from existence is really screwing with my head.

Doesn't mean they can't be investigated, understood and appreciated.
There's plenty of things we can do from here, we're living in an incredibly exciting time when it comes to finding out what's out there.
Yes, space is incredibly dangerous, but so was the Atlantic ocean 600 years ago, and going too far from the cave 20 000 years ago.

You're thinking about it completely wrong, visiting that place has nothing to do with how amazing it looks from distance. Just think about the milky way, I don't know about you but I think it looks pretty awesome from distance, and that's a location we live in.
