I'm most concerned with the way Google has purchased other entities and shut them down. I'm not entirely opposed to them becoming even more of a mega-corporation, but I just don't want to see things like what happened to Meebo happen to Boston Dynamics (maybe Meebo is a shitty example,) or, although they didn't shut them down, like buying Motorola just to improve its patent portfolio (terrible practice, absolutely despise it.) Google has certainly been a hugely positive resource to some of their acquisitions, like Android for example. But just a matter of preference, I kind of like my companies separate and not shut down...

Motorola has released 2 phones since Google bought them, they're not exactly shut down?
I have a theory that google will not be anything like that... Buy N Large was honest.
I mean the title states you will buy there stuff and become large; just look at the large people in the spaceship.
While google on the other hand lies to your face. "Don't be Evil" is exactly what Google does the opposite of, every day.
the name didn't mean "buy and get fat", it was a statement of buying a lot of shit from them, aka "buy in bulk". It was meant more to poke fun at wal mart(/sams club) and how extreme corporate/capitalistic priorities and management is driving the progress of society (into the ground)
it became their cover-all brand for large corporations in other pixar movies after wall e came out, like buzz's batteries or (apparently) on the construction equipment in UP. Then again, Pixar loves doing cross references and cameos everywhere, but that leads to some pretty wicked theories about everything being one universe with a continued interconnected storyline

Yeah, sorry, I was using Motorola simply as a point on patent buffing. Poor wording on my part.
They already own the makers of this thing:

Doesn't take a lot of effort to stick a chainsaw on it's back and a Googlerado LLC sticker on the side.
Hell, it already throws rocks (or, you know, explosives)

That is not the cute little wall-e.
That is a cinder block throwing nightmare.
This is fucking stupid. For google money comes first and foremost, if being evil meant they got more money then thats what they would do, just so happens that while there are other companies competing with them it is in googles interests to act like a good guy, with cushy phrases like "don't be evil"
Or maybe they have multiple goals, money being one of them?
Wont happen. They only break up a company if a monopoly appears (anti-trust act). Google doesnt hold a monopoly in any of the markets its in so far
They are a sneaky web.
If this means some not-so-cute robots, then I'm all in.
Motorola has released 2 phones since Google bought them, they're not exactly shut down?
More than that actually, though the Moto X and Moto G are the first true phones designed under Google's influenced, but there's also 2013's DROID line as well, though I'm fairly sure they were already in the works.
If Google started making guns then they'd be high-tech and awesome but the only way you could fire them is if you log in to your Google+ account. Then they'd start making guns harder to use with handles on the top and magazines at the front and will just keep changing the layout but we can't do shit because it'll end up being the only guns we have.
and that's how the gun problem was eliminated kids.

I predict that in the end, all that will be left is Google, Wal-Mart, and Amazon, who will end up merging together to become "Buy-n-Large".
Called it.

What's this a reference too? Google gives me nothing
What's this a reference too? Google gives me nothing
they're already beginning to hide the truth.........

you wont understand until it's time to leave them all behind
the name didn't mean "buy and get fat"
In-universe, the name comes from the two companies that joined to form BnL, Buy Yogurt and Large Pants.
The realized that people who ate enough of the former bought the latter.
What's this a reference too? Google gives me nothing
A parody of a line from a boss in Metal Gear Rising named Bladewolf
you wont understand until it's time to leave them all behind
What would an AI know about references
I would totally join a Google PMC, and I'd totally let me convert into a cyborg killing machines.
I'm just saying, Google, when you take over the place. Call me up.
Google might not be the most evil, but they're certainly could do some of the worst being evil.

S'all good.
I'll just go talk to Drebin.
[editline]15th January 2014[/editline]
As long as Google doesn't program paradox protection into their robots, we're entirely safe.
It's so obvious the whole one-good-company thing is a farce, they are just waiting until the right moment to strike and screw everyone over. Fucking evil bastards.

I was kinda disappointed how they only brought up the ID gun thing once in the whole movie...
