I don't understand the point of constructing some gigantic Star Wars lego ship only to have to destroy it and send it back when you're done. Isn't half the pleasure of making things with Lego getting to appreciate them when you're done?
It's like jigsaw puzzles. Sure, some people will frame them and stuff, but a lot of people will just tear it apart and throw it back in the box after a couple days. This makes it less expensive, less space-consuming, and more time-efficient.
I rarely have ever built a set according to what it's supposed to be. I've always just built shit, the closest I ever came to building from the instructions was trying to build a set by only using the front box cover picture.

Usually they somehow got broken after making whatever it was so I just built freely with the pieces after.
Question to those lego enthusiasts: Are there build kits for adults? I want to build some god damn complicated things
Question to those lego enthusiasts: Are there build kits for adults? I want to build some god damn complicated things
They just released Lego Architecture which seems more adult oriented
Question to those lego enthusiasts: Are there build kits for adults? I want to build some god damn complicated things
this one is massively complicated, i've seen it in real life. it's huge.
They just released Lego Architecture which seems more adult oriented
yeah but lego arch is even more expensive per brick than regular sets, also most of them aren't really that complicated
How much do they charge for teeth marks on the flat pieces
My girlfriend got me a Lego set for my [sp]22nd[/sp] birthday. It's expensive, even small technic sets cost £20+
It's nice that they clean it but what's going to happen when someone takes a shit on one of the flat pieces and presses it into another flat piece, forever locking the shit between the two pieces
Are there extra charges for all the teeth marks on all the flat 2x1 bricks from trying to prise them apart?
are you fucking serious i can never show my face here again
It's nice that they clean it but what's going to happen when someone takes a shit on one of the flat pieces and presses it into another flat piece, forever locking the shit between the two pieces
Well then that person is punished for sending a biohazard through the postal service when they return it
i know a lot of people get a lot of enjoyment out of building lego kits but my fun with lego was always smashing them when finished (after displaying proudly for a few weeks) and building something new, so this is pretty silly in my opinion.
I would legitimately sign up for this. LEGOs are still extremely underrated; one of the best feelings in the world is creating your own architecture from scratch from pieces you've collected over the years.
It's nice that they clean it but what's going to happen when someone takes a shit on one of the flat pieces and presses it into another flat piece, forever locking the shit between the two pieces
Zeke I'm getting the feeling that you're talking from personal experience :v:

Is it US only?

You would think I'd give more of a shit about my Kerbals dying non stop
I just print my own.
Real men build the lego sets WITHOUT instructions
Lol I'd just pay for the largest set they have then just steal it, being the good honest guy I am
Lol I'd just pay for the largest set they have then just steal it, being the good honest guy I am
This might actually be a problem, I wonder how they intend to deal with it?
You naturally would have signed an agreement before
Yeah, but people come up with all sorts of ways to scam companies, and this could potentially be really damaging considering some of the sets are 10 or 15 times the cost of a months membership. [editline]10th August 2013[/editline] A deposit would fix the problem, but drive customers away
I don't know how you guys played as kids. But I always built that shit then it got smashed in some fantasy war. Then it was refurbished into a totally different war machine.
Fucking marry that woman m8, she's a keeper.
How do they keep track all the individual pieces? A good portion of clients are parents giving them to their children. Children are not known to meticulously keep track of Lego pieces.
They could do it by weight but doesn't explain how they would know which piece.
I think that actually buying 25$ worth of Lego every month instead would be a better idea.
They just released Lego Architecture which seems more adult oriented
the ones on the site are absolutely terrible. i mean look at this shit http://architecture.lego.com/en-gb/products/landmark/willis-tower/ £18
Holy shit if my 8 year old cousin finds out he will go insane.
So my old harry potter lego set is valuable now?
Pretty much, all Lego sets appreciate in some way, brickpicker.com is a Lego set stock market if you will. Star Wars is the most popular but license sets do well too as do rare and limited edition sets. Recently the Technic 41999 has only 20k units made and I have one :3 could be valuable some day down the line. Problem with this rental service is that I would want to keep them all.... any how buying directly from Lego isn't always a bad idea, their VIP program is pretty decent, every £1 spent you get a point. Every 100 points is £10 so better than Nectar points any day.
