do your?
:what:
Well, that was stupid. The human race did become more "free" after the industrial EVOLUTION. However, people became more of a work horse. We made tools that increased output, but increased the chance of physical harm. You know what the cotton gin is right? Yeah, a tool made by a slave to lower the need for slaves. However, it only increased the need. Just like Assembly lines, just like factories, foundries, manufacturing plants, distribution hubs.. all that shit. They contain tools to "make the job easier" with the cost of more work in unsatisfactory environments and health hazards. And you're talking about sending natives to factories in brazil? Fucking puhleeze. The US has some high requirements for our factories, but they're still unsatisfactory. Imagine brazil. And do you think any of these people have any ability to manufacture anything? You're high on meth. When the first steam engine made its way down the iron road, it made our world smaller. But made our world dirty. When the first car hit the roads, it made it easier for us to get from A to B. But fueled the dependence on oil. Industralization only complexed the human life. All it did was increase output, but your back breaking hard work is still there. You'll be stuck on that train forever, only our output will increase. Not ease of life. Tribals have an easier life than us. They don't have to farm 100 acres of land inside a tractor for 12 hours a day. Sure that tractor makes the job easier, it doesn't make it any easier sitting there going 2mph up and down a fucking field all day. The health hazard is that now your body is becoming lazier. All your points, all your views.. they're invalid due to your inability to accept that other people have other lives.
If you so think that modern life is so shit then I know what you should do. Throw your computer into a bog, tear off all your clothes and abandon everything. Go out to live your "Easy" life out in the wilderness as a tribal savage. The left wing has no brains, and the right wing have no hearts.

The left wing has no brains, and the right wing have no hearts.
I didn't say modern life was shit, I live in the digital era. But I come with a heart and logic. I understand there is differences. You on the other hand are no different than a mule. Equally slow, stupid, and nothing better than some dumb labor. You find yourself a "tribal savage" and make them work in a manufacturing plant doing CNC.
because we have shit alot of water
Judging by your disagreement with me, you think destroying the rain forest is a good idea? Destroying one of the last places on earth that has yet to be discovered? One where scientists discover new fauna and flora that may hold the key to cancer cures and other medicines? You see, Sobotnik and you other people that call environmentalists hypocrites: I could care less about the earth. Earth has been around for 4.5 billion years and has undergone countless changes and prevailed relentless cosmic bombardments for thousands of years straight. I'm not here to save the Earth, the Earth will do fine. What you don't seem to realize is were killing ourselves. We need oxygen to survive and we need a cornucopia of natural resources and food to fuel your great industrial world, Sobotnik. We've fished the worlds oceans to near extinction, leveled forests and destroyed habitats. I see your world as a pitiful, disgusting, dirty, impoverished, shithole. Everyone will starve or be malnourished or die due to a lack of food or die of respiratory illness and weakened immune systems from not getting enough oxygen. People will be on a food ration because you seem to think your totalitarian viewpoint works, further lowering life expectancy and heath in general. You make the world into one giant, sick, tenement. It's not the earth that were saving, it's us. The earth will be fine. We won't last another 10,000 years on this planet though, and we will expire and every accomplishment we've ever done will be scraped off this planet in the next ice age and the earth will unfuck itself, and we will hardly go down as an honorable mention in earths history. I don't even care about trees really, but the rain forests are more than just trees. [editline]6th June 2011[/editline] You can have both a great, prosperous modern world and a healthy and plentiful ecosystem. We just refuse to do so.
hydroeletric power, is the best option here, all others isnt enough. like i said there is shit alot of water. it sures causes alot of damage when building it, but causes near no damage to environment on long way. people affected will be moved and paid. and the company involved will be forced to spend money to recover environment. now lets consider other options: use anykind of fuel = pollute air use air = not enough use solar = not enough use nuclear power = nuclear waste.

Use thorium reactors that AFAIK use up less nuclear waste. [editline]6th June 2011[/editline] How will they recover the hundreds of acres of land they will permanently flood?
Power companies have a shit record when it comes to fixing their environmental fuckups(see: BP Disaster) Nuclear is fine. [editline]6th June 2011[/editline] I say this in every thread, but really we need to get on that shit pronto. China and India already are, and unless we follow suit they'll have a massive advantage and then we'll all be living under the chinese. :v:
like acess to nuclear technology is easy like going to google ask type "how to build a nuclear reactor" and no nuclear isnt fine, the nuclear waste is a problem, it needs to be contained on special deposits, and any problem of leak, bang there goes your environment. any accident is serious problem. nuclear fuel isnt going to be here for ever, is not a renewable energy
like acess to nuclear technology is easier like going to google ask type "how to build a nuclear reactor" and no nuclear isnt fine, the nuclear waste is a problem, it needs to be contained on special deposits, and any problem of leak, bang there goes your environment. any accident is serious problem. nuclear fuel isnt going to be here for ever, is not a renewable energy
The fukushima disaster, which was a complete meltdown we now know, has yet to cause a major environmental impact despite dumping radiation into the ocean. The fish will be fine and the radiation will disperse throughout the air and water and be unnoticeable. Nuclear is the only option for an environmentally friendly future. Nuclear waste isn't even that big of a deal at present time. You use thorium nuclear until we can build efficient fusion reactors which only release Helium as a byproduct. Don't listen to Greenpeace for environmental facts, they have an agenda. [editline]6th June 2011[/editline] Plus, Brazil already has two nuclear reactors and is building another one. Why can't you just build more rather than fucking the rainforest again.

and chernobyl was a fairy tale right. and again not everyone has acess to nuclear technogly.
because we have shit alot of water
I thought it was because the v-shape valleys the Amazonian tributary rivers make were ideal for dam building.
and chernobyl was a fairy tale right.
Don't ever use chernobyl as an example for modern nuclear energy. The fact that you mention it tells me you have no idea how nuclear works in the modern world. Chernobyl was lined with graphite and had no protective outer casing. It had a meltdown and the graphite burned up and released tons of radiation into the unprotected reactor and blew it up sending tons of radiation into the atmosphere. Fukushima was also a total meltdown except it had a casing around it and was not contained in graphite. There will never be another Chernobyl event.
and chernobyl was a fairy tale right. and again not everyone has acess to nuclear technogly.
Chernobyl was a long time ago, reactor failsafes and other safety measures have improved since then. If Brazil can afford dams it afford reactors. (I think, but don't quote me on that.)
Chernobyl was a long time ago, reactor failsafes and other safety measures have improved since then. If Brazil can afford dams it afford reactors. (I think, but don't quote me on that.)
They have two and are building another one. They can afford it.
and chernobyl was a fairy tale right.
The Chernobyl NPP was a terribly designed piece of shit which was intrinsically unsafe for a load of reasons. And even then it only actually killed something like 20 people. Compare that to the number of people killed by the Banqiao Dam collapse in China...

We shall build battery hen farms, grow masses of algae to provide our oxygen, use fusion power to provide our energy. Drain every fen and marsh. Mine every mine hollow. Drain the earth of its oils. Use every last scrap to build a completely automated system so we can punch nature in the face and laugh at it, before then stabbing it in the chest with a factory made bayonet and twisting the gun till it gurgles its last. China and India don't give a shit about Westerners trying to halt them. Whilst you environmentalists try to make solar panels or save some fucking dolphins the Chinese will eventually end up in a position whereby they have near infinite manpower and industrial capacity. Its a fad the decadent west focuses on because since their lives are so easy and live beyond their means they focus on trivial problems. In the 60s it was hippies and all their peace, the 80s had the idiots complaining about nuclear disarmament and now its environmentalism. Nothing before that because people were too busy with their own problems than sponsoring a jaguar. The true way is to build a artificial environment that suits our needs better than maintain the old one.

You should know I hate solar panels. Fusion IS the future regardless of how much you rape the rest of the planet. Where will you grow the algae? We get most of our oxygen from Phytoplankton, but ocean acidification from increased CO2 is killing them off. You could grow algae in the oceans but it would certainly kill everything else, and the amount you would need would be astounding. Why not just take care of the ocean and use what we already have?
you're like some comical fucking villain from a shitty 80s animation for kids with an environmental message
Excuse me but can you cite where I mentioned solar panels? You should know I hate solar panels.
you're like some comical fucking villain from a shitty 80s animation for kids with an environmental message
Show the kids cheap food, cheap clothing and cheap travel as a result of industrialisation, and show environmentalists as hippies wallowing in the dirt.
I'm not a Luddite or anything. I just think the key to a prosperous and healthly human future and existence is to not destroy the only home we have right now.
nuclear enegy requires fuels, so u need to find and extract the fuel or buy from other countries. yea sure we can afford one but can we keep hundreds of reactors to replace hydroeletrics? fucking no hydroeletric energy requires no fuel, all you need is rain, sure there will be times that the rain frequency will be too low, but we can hold it without a problem. i am not saying that nuclear power is worst or better than hydro, just hydro IS the best option for us period.
I'm not a Luddite or anything. I just think the key to a prosperous and healthly human future and existence is to not destroy the only home we have right now.
Not destroy, renovate. Convert the planet into one that serves the needs of the human race most efficiently.

Hydroelectric dams are much more severe for short term damage. Especially with the large reservoirs behind them. Think about a tsunami. Now imagine that tsunami the same height as that dam. Catastrophic damage. However, all you'll need to do is clean up the area after it drained. Nuclear meltdowns will result in an area being uninhabitable for at least a century. They don't cause massive amounts of damage, just dangerous radiation.
yea now go extract it, or lets just wait rain
You already have it mined. All you have to do is slap it in a reactor which is already under construction. This stupid dam has yet to be approved.
