welfare fraud is not nearly as common as bill o'reilly says it is if you ask me welfare is not given enough at all to the right people, thanks for nothing FEMA
Additionally, I'd like to know what percent he'd tax them at, flatly.
That's the thing. If everybody pays their fair share, that means that the poorer people would mostly be paying less than what they are now, and the government can still receive equal if not greater receipts.
That is a good point, and after thinking about it, drug testing every American would be wayyy to expensive. So drug testing evidently is not a viable option. But we need to take care of our debt, and there are equally large flaws with the way our welfare system is being run... We can't just continue to ignore these problems because they're not going to fix themselves.
How about stop focusing on programs that by and large help the poor, and focus on corporations that take millions of US dollars out of the country, and only repatriate them during tax holidays (funny enough the proponents of these tax holidays are most often Republicans) to avoid higher taxes. That's abuse of the system if I've ever seen it.
That's the thing. If everybody pays their fair share, that means that the poorer people would mostly be paying less than what they are now, and the government can still receive equal if not greater receipts.
What percentage do you suggest?
That's the thing. If everybody pays their fair share, that means that the poorer people would mostly be paying less than what they are now, and the government can still receive equal if not greater receipts.
sounds like wild thinking in the conservative paradise
That's the thing. If everybody pays their fair share, that means that the poorer people would mostly be paying less than what they are now, and the government can still receive equal if not greater receipts.
Flat taxes don't make people pay fair shares, as the poorer pay substantially larger portions of their income. We've gone over this so many times.
What percentage do you suggest?
6, maybe 7 percent. According to my last pay stub, I got 23.6% of my paycheck taken out due to taxes.
Here are the current tax brackets: Now, following Ridge logic, those above $30,000 should pay a flat rate, so again I'll ask, what rate? [editline]8th August 2011[/editline]
6, maybe 7 percent. According to my last pay stub, I got 23.6% of my paycheck taken out due to taxes.
Hahaha, holy shit. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline]
6, maybe 7 percent. According to my last pay stub, I got 23.6% of my paycheck taken out due to taxes.
So let me get this straight, anyone above $30,000 should only have to pay 6/7% income tax, and the poorer ones will pay what, 1%?
all these ideas have been tried before and they've gotten the US into a gigantic mess. meanwhile on the other side of the globe many of the policies that US politicians call bad and socialist are being used widespread to incredible effects. scandinavia is massively capitalist and yet manages to provide incredible services to their citizens.
oh my goodness he's been hovering around 50-40% approval for a while worst president ever
6, maybe 7 percent. According to my last pay stub, I got 23.6% of my paycheck taken out due to taxes.
Yes Ridge, do tell why Scandinavian countries can afford to have Progressive taxation?
6, maybe 7 percent.
yeah you don't know what you are talking about, sorry.
Yes Ridge, do tell why Scandinavian countries can afford to have Progressive taxation?
Oil exports
Oil exports
Really, that's it?
Really, that's it?
They are making bank on it. I bet we could relax our tax code a bit if we were to drill some of the massive amounts of oil within our borders and in the Gulf, too. I'll be interested to see what happens to the Viking offspring once the oil supplies run out, though.
they don't export that much more oil than the united states
They are making bank on it. I bet we could relax our tax code a bit if we were to drill some of the massive amounts of oil within our borders and in the Gulf, too. I'll be interested to see what happens to the Viking offspring once the oil supplies run out, though.
I'm going to tell you right now, that's not the reason.
they don't export that much more oil than the united states
They have a much much smaller population and military to support, though.
1. Obama isn’t trusted on the economy Economics is wicked complicated and everyone has an opinion on it, educated or not. not sure how this indicates how the presidency is melting down 2. Obama isn’t serious about the budget deficit wrong 3. Obama’s foreign policy remains a weak-kneed and confusing mess Not really? I think he's done better than obama in this direction anyway 4. Independents are deserting the president they might be but that has nothing to with the presidency. also yes obama has certainly moved to the right on some of his policies 5. A majority of Americans still reject Obamacare I've heard the exact opposite 6. The Obama presidency looks increasingly out of touch with the American people More than the republicans and the tea partiers? 7. Conservatism is growing stronger in America THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PRESIDENCY OF BARACK OBAMA 8. The Tea Party has been a stunning success See above. I've also heard the exact opposite. 9. The Obama presidency comes across as bitter, nasty and divisive Not to me 10. The liberal elites are turning on the president This is probably right but still has little to do with obama.
They have a much much smaller population and military to support, though.
right and we have much more industry and production and other exports there's no excuse
right and we have much more industry and production and other exports there's no excuse
Like what? We've got some shitty car brands. And that's about it. And they're mostly made in Canada and Mexico.
Like what? We've got some shitty car brands. And that's about it. And they're mostly made in Canada and Mexico.
The point is, the reason Sweden can have Progressive taxes isn't oil exports.
Ridge, who would you like to see instead of Obama? Ron Paul and Palin? lmao
Palin is about as far removed from Paul as is Obama.
I couldn't give less of a shit about Obama, but for the love of god don't let a Republican get elected
its like any other presidency but now the internet can gang up on him even more
Palin is about as far removed from Paul as is Obama.
Who would you endorse for president?
Like what? We've got some shitty car brands. And that's about it. And they're mostly made in Canada and Mexico.
wow can you call yourself even educated? the US is one of the largest manufacturers in the world. we produce most of the worlds rice (california in particular), we have a booming service industry that exports a variety of things, we export industrial equipment and aircrafts, computers, processors. the us exports $1.280 trillion worth of goods. 3rd in the world. [editline]8th August 2011[/editline]
Who would you endorse for president?
zombie ayn rand
zombie ayn rand
I assume she's like a Bizarro Ayn Rand, who's a Marxist Code Pink member.
zombie ayn rand
A zombie is a hideous and hostile dried up creature who only wants to do things for themselves and stumbles around as a braindead creature So techincally Ayn Rand was a zombie.
