I can't figure out what's worse: This, the ending(s), or the controversy behind Tali's face.

The ending, definitely.
I could've gotten over Tali's face if I could've gotten a better ending with actual closure. Now I just have to nitpick everything wrong with the game because I can't find closure to an awesome series.
You whack the nest with a bat and the biodrones start pouring out.
I love this.

You want a decent ending ? Here, someone made this :

Eh, I believe it's been said before but... That's not downloadable content, that's unlockable content.
If I buy a new house without a garage, it's fine if I have to pay extra to have a garage built.
If I however buy a house with a garage, it's not fine if I have to pay extra for the keys to the garage.
What, they actually did something stupid like that?
But seriously, when I eventually buy this game I won't be paying for any dlc that comes on the disk.
They sell the slightly gimped CPUs for significantly cheaper than the current prices. So it's $50 less to not be able to overclock, for example. But you can pay that $50 for a file that permanently enables said feature.

Best way to describe it is :

People have such short memories. Dragon Age: Origins was developed by Bioware, published by EA, and had 0-day DLC on disc. That was back in 2009.
EA simply doesn't give a fuck. Buyers don't give a fuck. Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises sold millions of copies, and will continue to do so.
People were outraged:
- when DLC replaced proper expansions.
- when Ubisoft required always-on internet connections for single player games
- when 0-day DLC was pioneered.
- when LAN play was removed from games.
- when games started shipping without modding tools and dedicated servers.
- when Activision started asking $15 for 3 maps and some skins.
- when game publishers started asking $10 from buyers of pre-owned games.
and so on.
In each and every case the market has accepted what was imposed on them. This shit will continue and there's nothing we can do.
In theory all you need is a cracked .exe to activate the new DLC and mission; it's that lazy.
That's giving them too much credit, it's literally changing a line of text to unlock the DLC.

Christ I only just realised this is 5 pages late and someone else has probably already said this

Still everyone can have an opinion on something and critizise their marketing strategies.
This a notorious EA stunt, why are you guys surprised?
It's still a great game
am I gonna get boxed because I agree here
I mean the endings were complete bullshit and cutting content equally so, but everything right up until the end was pretty decent

There actually is: Stop buying games which contain such methods and therefore show publishers and developers that they will not gain profit out of new, shitty scam-tactics.

There's millions of people who don't care and will continue to throw money at the big publishers.

Gamers for the most part are idiots. They will throw away money and won't give a shit about it. Meanwhile, everyone who does care will get screwed over. This is what happens when you turn profit on the arts, you get corporatism.

It's not just gamers though. Pretty much any business can pull underhanded stuff and get away with it if it's popular enough.
Welcome to capitalism!

what
The game has 1 day DLC and endings which don't give closure, but are still interesting.
MY GOD 1 PERCENT OF THE GAME ITS ALL RUINED OH MY GOD
This game made me more emotionally involved than any other game I've ever played.

Someone gotta make a start. Didn't buy Battlefield 3 and didn't buy ME3. Won't buy any EA games in the future, no matter what. I'm sick of it and will therefore stop buying games from developers who think they can do shit all the time. If the rest sticks to being somewhat idiotic, I don't care for them.

Really, right up until the end, I was enjoying every minute of it that wasn't somewhere between very boring and very frustrating.
I think I'm confident in saying I don't regret buying it. Hell, the endings would have sucked and the DLC would still cost money even if I didn't buy the game, so at least I got some enjoyment out of it, and that's all I could ever really ask from a game.
Die hard Bioware fan here, I've been one since Baldurs gate.
EA litrually fuck over everything they touch. If they think I'm buying ME3 from them they can think again.
I'll just purchase some £1 cheaper pre-owned version and give them the finger...greedy bastards

I think ME3 had a online key, so if you buy that copy there might not be a key in it. So no MP for you.
I'll buy when the ending gives closure. We got a deal?
I don't care if you violently kill them all. But at least do it on cam.

"A file"
Isn't it hardware based locking, not software? Either way, I know I wouldn't pay to unlock it, there's probably a 5 second method online.

It's not like that. It shows what you do, and what happens, but it doesn't show the aftermath, years in the future, and stuff that people wanted

And people complained about it too afaik
They added it as content for the Collector's Edition. It isn't plot critical. What's the big deal?
The dragon age DLC was also free if you bought the game.
They added it as content for the Collector's Edition. It isn't plot critical. What's the big deal?
They lied about it multiple times and for months, stating that it was developed after the game had gone gold and said that it was not on the disc.
