You're the one attracting attention with your edginess. Just stop, close the tab and forget about it.
This speaks to me, a lot.
After all the worlds I saved from destruction, I can finally build my own for the future generation to save.
A bit late, but this might make for a really interesting game in itself.
One set of players builds and shapes the game world, the other set inhabits/saves/destroys it.

If only I was a skilled game dev I'd steal your idea and give you no credit.
I'd play a game like that if it were done well, for sure!
Every now and then I get a cool idea for a house in minecraft, build it then forget about it.
My biggest project was an entire tron-like city, I gave up on it after doing the residential district. May go back to it at some point though.

I assumed you did judging by your post.

There's stating reasons for disliking something, then there's being just plain rude. You can't just insult a game and imply that it's fan base is nothing but obnoxious, smartass, Adderall-Infested, loud mouthed children and not expect people to give you shit about it. And to be honest, no-one has posted anything that can be construed as "freaking out" or "over protective" against your comments.

Fuck you're like that justin bieber fan dude...but the opposite, and for minecraft
This retard is tainting and ruining her sons social skills with this game and setting a fast track towards him becoming a jaded social outcast.
it's funny because you're acting like one by shitting out your negative opinion in the most blatant way possible and then go all "woah im just stating my opinion" when people think you are obnoxious
real smooth there
I'm actually almost surprised and disappointed that there are really people this obsessed with Minecraft.
holy shit this 100% describes my 11-year-old brother
i always tell him to stop watching minecraft videos and go skateboard or something
Yeah, there's a point where you cross being a "fan" to "this is my life"
If you go to a minecraft convention, you're probably in the latter.
Then I guess if you pay huge money to go see a sports event then that sport is literally your life, eh?
Why is it hard for people to understand that today's video games are yesterday's sports. There's no higher or lower level of interest in them, you guys just can't accept it or something idk.
Those are sports events. Not sport conventions.
You can't really compare sports and minecraft.
Except that they are both games, they are both something that people put a lot of time, money, and effort into, they are both something that large groups of people become fanatical about, and they are both something that people who don't like bash for no reason?
Other than that I guess yeah, they don't compare.
But hey, at least no one will literally beat you up for liking the wrong modpack, right?
They really don't compare that much at all.
You're trying to make me say shit like "Well if you go to a concert music is your life!" but a music concert is not a minecraft convention.
They just do not compare, have you even seen what happens at those minecraft conventions?
Have you seen what happens at those sports games?
no
Well let me sum it up for you, a bunch of retarded people get together to share an experience that is centered around a game they like and dress up in the costumes and gear from that game and then have a good time.
wait was I talking about sports or MineCon, I can't discern the two.
Well you should get out more if you can tell the difference between a football game and a convention. I don't know what to tell you, man.
MineCon is the equivalent of a sports game, and watching minecon on live stream is equivalent to sitting in your house and watching football on tv. If you can't understand that, I don't know what to tell you, man.
That's just eight year olds, for you. My cousin is the same way about football. I don't give a flyin' squirrel about football, but 24/7, he's going on and on and on about it.
"Who are your favorite teams? What are your top five favorite players? I like the Chargers. Do you like the Chargers? Who would win: the Chargers or the Colts? What's your favorite Chargers player? I like Antonio Gates the most. He's the best player ever. Do you think so too? If you liked football, who would you want to play for? I'd want to play for the Chargers."
Jeez!
Is your cousin Starpkuck?
It's the same reason Rust and DayZ are popular, the same reason RPGs were the hot shit in the 90s, the idea that if you can imagine it you can do it. It used to be saving the world, now it's building a world.

Now we need a game where you build your own world and then save it. :v:

And the next hot shit is destroying the world?
I could see it happening.
I wish I had minecraft when I was a kid, I would have loved it.
But I had something pretty similar. Back when I was a kid I used to play something called Active Worlds, and in a sense its very similiar to Minecraft (except looked and played more like Second Life). You could pretty much build and make anything, play AW-made games like a recreation of D&D, explore worlds like Mars, etc. All online, all over dial-up multiplayer and it all worked really well.
I kind of miss it in a way. I remember making space ships and platforming games and everything.
I think it still is going on, though obviously hardly anyone plays it ever since Second Life became and thing and then people stopped caring about that.
My 11 year old brother is just the same, ever since he saw me playing it he has pretty much made my parents buy it for him on PS3, PC and Android, all he does is play Minecraft and watch videos of it in his spare time at home :v:
My friends two little brothers are like that too, they're like 10 and 11. I think it's the only game they play, and they watch videos of it ALL the time, Let's Plays etc etc.
And guess what, they also love lego. First time I walked into their room while visiting, I saw this AWESOME stuff they made of lego, I have to say I was quite impressed.
They ask me to play with them sometimes but I keep telling them that I think the game sucks because I get bored of it too quickly. They just shrug me off and tell me It's I who suck. They still look up to me for some reason though.
I like Minecraft, mostly because of the building aspect but also because I find it highly therapeutic and calming. You have to admit it can be enjoyable, especially during those moments you play it with some friends and have silly shenanigans.

bro those pictures are bringing me back memories of roblox lol
active world to you was like roblox to me, which is minecraft to the kids now
kinda interesting to think about, but i don't believe a whole lotta people were THIS involved in AW or roblox (probably because they didn't have let's plays or conventions but still)
I used to play the hell out of Rollercoaster Tycoon. To the point of recreating real theme parks and real rides, using mods, etc.
Minecraft strikes me as the ultimate 'tycoon' builder game in that you can be the king of any type of world you care to create. I'm no longer into that type of gameplay, so Minecraft doesn't interest me but I know I would have been obsessed with it if it was available back then.
So I don't think Minecraft has especially addictive qualities, I think that with more platforms available to play on now, and ways to watch other people play now(ie Youtube), it just seems to have more game addicts than older games did.
