Of course im just sick of reading about people getting sent away for "attacking" people in their own homes.
I.e. stabbing someone in the back in the eyes of the courts its seen as assault as the intruder can claim they were running away even though they were on someone else's property.
um
stabbing someone in the back isn't self defense

Does it count if they're holding a gun to someone?
And I feel a bit sickened that someone has most probably tried to argue the stabber should be charged with murder even though he was saving someone.
Wait, wait, stop the fucking presses
Is this something actually working as it's meant to?
Holy shit, I guess we can do something right after all.
Looks like an Englishmans home really is his castle.
Minus sometimes when it is a castle of sand.

obviously that would be different i don't understand why you needed to introduce a ridiculous hypothetical

Who builds their house in the middle of the street? That's just silly.

I know, it's just a hypothetical situation my mind felt a need to produce. Take no notice of it.

It was the eighties, shit was crazy.
Yay, more people justifying murder.

I have such fond memories of that song playing for no reason in the middle of an epidsode of The Young Ones.
My mates going Law for his A levels, so I know that you can use equal force or something,
meaning if they hit you, you hit them back.
They pull out a knife, you can stab them theoretically
Wouldn't that mean that if an intruder pulled a gun you could hypothetically shoot them?
Wouldn't that mean that if an intruder pulled a gun you could hypothetically shoot them?
Guns aren't legal in the UK though, so there'd probably be some sort of investigation unless you produce a license.
Wouldn't that mean that if an intruder pulled a gun you could hypothetically shoot them?
Technically yes, since he is trespassing, threatening you and using a firearm.

I should have phrased that better, the person who owns the house would have access to a legal firearm. I assume (hope?) if you shot someone with an illegal gun you wouldn't get off just because the other person had one.
Sounds like reasonable self-defense, good job Manchester Court. Proud to live here.

That actually kinda makes sense for a self defence law to be honest.
Huh, what are the rules regarding intruders in the UK anyways? I know that here in Arizona (gun-tote central), if someone breaks and enters your home, you are by all rights allowed to shoot them without question. You don't even have to give them a warning, just blast away
Ironically enough, in America it makes you look worse in court if you don't shoot the intruder an excessive number of times.
Huh, he killed somebody. You don't get to do that too often, not without serious consequences. So I guess that's cool in a way.
Killing people is sooooooooo cool!
Man, the UK justice system is so fucked up. If he lived in the US, that sick burglar-stabber would have gotten the punishment that he clearly deserves!

Wait, what if two robbers, both with illegal firearms, entered your house and you managed to wrestle one of said firearms out of one of the robbers hands and use it on his still-armed acomplice?
If this was during a struggle then OK.
But It's still completely different from shooting people because hypothetically they might be a threat to you even though you have a gun.

Your defending your property, your telling me you would let some asshole come into your home pick up your car keys turn around and walk off and If you had a knife at hand you'd would refrain yourself from using it.
Address please ill be round later for the car.
How about just grab him instead of putting an end to a life for a car. That is a stupid, exaggerated example.
