I'm stunned that this was even finished. 8 years working on a game that's going to be released for free, and it ends up being of a higher quality than most triple A titles today
Well, yeah, Half-Life in general is better than most triple A titles.
Can you donate to the mod team, or can they legally not accept donations?
Can you donate to the mod team, or can they legally not accept donations?
They can accept donations as far as I know. If I had the money I'd be all over it, they really deserve it.
Can you donate to the mod team, or can they legally not accept donations?
You can choose to pay for the soundtrack (choose your payment, from $3 to $100), but I'm not sure if that goes to the full team, or just the musicians. That's all I've been able to find.
It's sad that to get games as good as this nowadays, we have to depend on remakes of older games.
It's sad that to get games as good as this nowadays, we have to depend on remakes of older games.
I think more accurately, "Independent developers make better games than mainstream published developers do."
I wonder if anyone is going to make an Action Black Mesa? :v:
I have a shitty market computer and I have no problems on max settings. Must be just you.
Nah, I have the issue too.
So turns out I still have my Half Life day one CD I can't find much info on it, do you think it's worth something?
IT'S EXTRACTING
So turns out I still have my Half Life day one CD I can't find much info on it, do you think it's worth something?
Probably not unless it's in mint condition, which I doubt.
Probably not unless it's in mint condition, which I doubt.
CD has no scratches, it's literally been sitting in this sleeve for half a decade [sub]not showing up on windows 7 though..[/sub]
CD has no scratches, it's literally been sitting in this sleeve for half a decade [SUB]not showing up on windows 7 though..[/SUB]
Yes but that's not mint condition, only "Like new" or undamaged. It'd have to be in it's original packaging, unopened, to have that distinction.
Overall, I found the mod to be fun, but occasional sound glitches (namely sounds not playing, often explosions and the like in the opening sequences), rare animation oddities, and sometimes confusing paths one needs to take (on one occasion had to use ent_fire !picker unlock to open doors since the game was completely tight-lipped on how one gets the hell out of there). Only encountered one game-breaking bug where the rocket booster wouldn't fire to fry the 3-headed thing despite activating the fuel and oxygen supply. The aforementioned command was used to get past it.

I need source SDK base, which is another 1gb to download. FUUUUUUUUUUUUU
You also need to activate the power
Oh dear christ, I knew I forgot something D: Been so long since I played HL1. Still, saw nothing indicating I had to activate power; the control room had a light for fuel and oxygen, but none for power :/

Boot up an Ubuntu live CD, put the CDs in your computer, rip them to ISOs, inspect them in Windows.
I've got a copy of Half-Life: GOTY. With the original big-size box. Pretty heavily damaged, though (I found it at Goodwill for $5). I could probably sell it for $10-$20, but I like it just for the box art - I have it rather more on display than any of my other games.
I probably failed to mention Half Life day one was a demo, which is why it has no packaging note half life initial encounter included half life day one and TFC, but those are still for sale
This is the best game I have played all year. And that includes GW2 and Max Payne 3.

Nevermind, I got it working in windows [editline]15th September 2012[/editline] loading reaaaly slowly [editline]15th September 2012[/editline] it played that siren sound file really really loudly [t]http://puu.sh/15sWz[/t] nope
Traffic from the facepunch mirror only, the torrent was on another box. You guys must have really had a bad time with those other file hosts...
It actually runs surprisingly bad for me at times. It dipped as low as 24FPS at some intense open areas. And my PC plays Portal 2 at >100FPS.
Ironically, I'm playing this on a tablet PC, with intel HD 3000 graphics. And it sometimes dips down that low at 1280 x 800 on mostly high settings (which shouldn't be all that unusual considering yours should just excel at it in every way). Still, this game is really damn good. I like how its just similar enough that you know where you are and what's going on, but its different enough that you aren't bored thinking that its "just an HD pack".
Is it just me, or are the soldiers really tough to fight?
I read up on HL Day One, is this fucking true
The Gman has a different reaction when being shot by the player. If he is fired upon enough times, he will grab his briefcase to chest level and run, apparently scared from the bullets, to the area containing the elevator
You need to verify/fraps this
I bid 50p
I bid 40p and a packet of Quavers
