yes. most automatic weapons are.
Are you serious? If I wanted to I could get a federal license to buy a machine gun if I wanted to. Costs a fuck-ton of money but it's not illegal.
this is DC so this is not expected
The identity of the gun DOES matter. If it's a legitimate select fire Kalashnikov, there might have been some serious shit involved. If it's a WASR-10 it's just every day Washington DC.
My expectation
'Nuff said.
Eh, not as bad as
This is normal.
dingus, i know for a fact that the ak-47 banned in America, or at least california, thats why all the gangstas use a single fire look alike.
You're an idiot.
Whats with the "It's not an Ak47, it's a WASR." I feel that on the internet everyone who makes that a big deal seems to be a 16 year old gamer who's a self proclaimed gun expert but has only ever fired 4 firearms, if any, and 3 of those would have been their uncles.
It's not like you can easily make one yourself or anything.

absurdly unlikely, quality journalist
happened before bro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francisco_Martin_Duran
how are you enjoying your first week in america? you still have a lot to learn, but that's ok. we can wait.
Hey, dickwad, do you think the average American will have an AK47? Don't you think it's a bit suspicious that the person ran away and left it behind? If it was registered and legal, they probably would have taken it with them since the gun could be used to identify them. It doesn't even matter if it wasn't an AK47. A mystery person shooting any assault rifle in our nation's capital doesn't help their case. It really bothers me how no one will make these connections and would rather just call me dumb.

It being an AK-47 is irrelevant.
