Time for another Civil War over Black People - Obama Now Forced to Address Texas Secession Bid; Sece

But who would even support the bid?
Democrats hate it because it's against their president and it's retarded.
Republicans hate it because if they lose Texas, they lose every election forever.

It's not even partisan.
You can't leave the fucking union unless you're a territory and we give you the right to.
I signed it for shits and giggles.
If the people think their unalienable rights are being breached or obstructed they have the right to secede and institute a new government which will establish and secure them.

Basically the Federal Government can't keep you from leaving the Union should it come to that.
If the people think their unalienable rights are being breached or obstructed they have the right to secede and institute a new government which will establish and secure them.
It doesn't even say that. It says that they can alter the government, or fucking knock it all down and start over.
So how many days do you think it would take for the cartels to completely control texas if the secede?
It doesn't even say that. It says that they can alter the government, or fucking knock it all down and start over.
So the Federal Government gave the Confederacy permission to secede and cause a massive war?
e:
So you don't misinterpret this, if the states get pissed off enough, eventually they aren't going to politely ask the federal government for permission to secede.
So how many days do you think it would take for the cartels to completely control texas if the secede?
It depends. If Texas secedes and influences other states we MIGHT still have a strong enough military to keep them back until it all blows over. If not, bye.

when did I say that?
The civil war was over secession and eventually slavery, since that was the issue that it was mainly fought over.
States don't have the right to secede.
[editline]13th November 2012[/editline]
Really, not to trip on any civil war fantasies you guys might have.
But like, there's going to be foreign intervention on the Unions side this time. And it will be a miracle of the army bases go with the state, since they're federal, not state owned.

I don't get your first point, I know it was over secession that's what I was getting at. States may not have the right to secede but that won't stop them.
Also, you are right on the foreign intervention part of it.
i always said i think it'd be a great idea if we just took new england and made it a separate country
we'd be pretty much the best at everything (except like farming and shit)

Yes.
I approve of this plan.
There is pretty much one for every state. I'm surprised I haven't seen "Peacefully grant the Land of Skyrim to withdraw from the Empire of Cyrodil and create its own NEW government.
"

The plan that will immediately fail because Best Korea decides to take advantage and become Best World :v:

And then be taken out by Mexican Druglords hoping to secure their own country.
There is a petition for that.
You mean.. like ... let them secede? Cause it seems like that's kinda what they wanted.
And then be taken out by Mexican Druglords hoping to secure their own country.
Considering the local gunshop down the road from me has a functional grenade launcher with ammo along with a shitload of machine guns, I think the drug lords are going to have a hell of a fucking time.
If a state were to secede, would their National Guard become their state military?

It'd probably have to, assuming that the state isn't forming a coalition with other states after secession.
I imagine that unless the government does anything, the state level troops are the states. The whole secession thing is kind of impossible due to strategic placement of military bases.
Federal troops could just destroy the state troops equipment and capture their government through air cav raids.
I see nothing in here about it being regarding race.

Well I know Texas has a few squadrons of F-16s and some Apaches. If it came to that and Texas was able to get their planes off the ground it could get pretty bloody on both sides. They would inevitably loose, but not without putting up a fight.
both sides would have relatively the same training and equipment/technology. It would come down to numbers, which the US obvious has.
Whatever happened to "United we stand, divided we fall"?
However, you would have to deal with the mass insurgency of country folk that would occupy the rural areas as rebel group/territories for quite awhile until they're snuffed out.

Instead of Toyota trucks, AK-47's and Islamic propaganda music, it would be Chevy's, Hunting rifles, and Hank Williams jr.

Nah man. They'd be struck down faster than a civilian water supply three days before an Israeli invasion.

I saw someone arguing that everything within Texas's borders would become theirs, including the US Military Personnel, Bases, and Hardware. Yeah that'll go down well with Washington for sure, stealing from Uncle Sam is a great way to form a new country.
Either the bases will remain under control of the Federal Government (like how we have bases in many other foreign countries) or we'll need to abandon them and use our monster military budget to build new ones elsewhere.

The US still has the Navy, where a single carrier group could probably wipe out whatever Texas would be able to field in that time, then commence airstrikes and bombing runs from off the coast.

Yeah. That wouldn't happen. Like I've been saying for a couple of pages, the US government kind of has their bases strategically placed.
I'd feel bad if we bomb the cities though. They're the easiest target, but also most likely the only people in Texas that didn't sign on for this shit in the first place.

Well none of this will happen, not even close. We're just having a bit of fun with hypotheticals.
There would be no reason to bomb the cities. At the most, they'd just send in a ton of marine strike forces through Ospreys, and have the army come in by APC and tank.
The armed forces practices A LOT for urban combat and are kind of good at their jobs.
Really, through just showing their muscles, most people would just surrender. A little thing people forget about, not everyone has armored vehicles or anti tank weaponry.
