• Anti-drug advertisements usually end up making more kids do more drugs

What do chemicals have to do with it? There can be a million fucking chemicals in anything, doesn't necessarily mean it's harmful.
I remember seeing an Onion article about some kids who swore off drugs forever after seeing their parents high. Maybe the Onion had the right idea.

pugs drugs n hugs
Honestly, Anti Drug PSAs have actually contributed to my desire to try drugs more.
I hit a blunt the other day minutes after a commercial aired saying I could get lung cancer. Oh well I guess or something.
In elementary school, I was learning about how bad tobacco is and shit. It made me want to smoke just for the fun of it soon after.
Am I the only person in facepunch that doesnt do drugs?
Am I the only person in facepunch that doesnt do drugs?
I don't do drugs, never had, may never will but no one knows that.
They put up a bunch of anti drug posters at our school today One of them says that 5 joints have the same amount of chemicals as 1 cigarette, and another says 1 out of 6 students that try pot get addicted. It's the Take 5 Campaign, look 'em up.
Isn't that wrong, and that a joint has more carcinogens than a single cigarette, but because you smoke less pot than tobacco it ends up being less anyway?
Am I the only person in facepunch that doesnt do drugs?
Took a good hard look around you, it's not just facepunch hahaha. I can almost guarantee that the people you are surrounded by in your daily life have at least had a taste or two of many recreational drugs, and many more are well on their way to experiencing it for themselves.
Am I the only person in facepunch that doesnt do drugs?
I'd say the majority don't, but you have to remember that alot of people in the world take drugs and alot don't. Just don't knock em till you've tried em
YOU, ALL RIGHT?! I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU! edit: I think the DARE program was the worst offender. They'd show videos that supposedly showed teenagers smoking pot. All I could think was "Wow. Getting high looks fun."
"Weed is 40% more cancerous than tobacco and will kill your kidneys!" yeah DARE was a load of shit
"Weed is 40% more cancerous than tobacco and will kill your kidneys!" yeah DARE was a load of shit
Now you know why the FDA considers DARE a shit excuse for an anti-drug association :v: I had DARE in the fifth grade, it was shitty. DARE officer, however, she was pretty cool
If you want kids to avoid drugs like marijuana then good luck with that (hahaha) if you want kids to avoid drugs like heroin and meth just show them an episode of Breaking Bad, [sp] especially the scene where Jane chokes to death on her own vomit while on heroin [/sp]
Weed has a pretty strong culture around it, which is okay since its not damaging like heroin and whatnot. I'd put it on par with alcohol honestly.

Either that or think it makes them successful. Hell, Nikki Sixx died like 5 times by himself and he's still alive, so I guess maybe I'm wrong.
I remember middle school. "If you want to smoke it's much cheaper to breath trough a little straw. Your brain cells die the same way. Same effect."
no that wasnt breaking bad it was fixing good
Same diff.
Although i don't personally do any sort of drugs, I always thought those ads are a bit like have a big red button, with a sign saying DO NOT Push Button...
Its funny because when I was in 5th grade or so, a DARE officer came in with a suitcase with a shit ton of drugs, everything from prescription pills to crack, weed, heroin, lsd, shrooms, ecstacy, etc. And he went on to explain what each one did (very simple info like cocaine is an upper/stimulant) and how do do each one. So essentially it was a "Heres this drug, it makes you feel good by making you feel this, and this is how you take it- BUT DONT DO IT." On a funny note when i saw what LSD looked like on a tab, i thought i could hallucinate if i took anything that looked like a tiny sticker and just put it on my tongue for a minute. I saw a package of stickers for sale at a quickcheck and it reminded me of the class, and I got all surprised thinking they were selling LSD :v:
Maybe they should take a new approach and just have a shady man tell people to "Buy it, it's good for business." while some men in the background are tossing bodies out of a truck into a pit.
That would make an awesome anti-prohibition commercial. Instead he would say something like ''Keep it illegal, it's good for business.'' or something.
I remember when I was 12 after a drugs education class I came home telling my mum when I was older I was going to take acid and lock myself in my room so I wouldn't jump off buildings because the idea of hallucinating sounded like the coolest shit ever to me :v: I did end up doing it in later life but not in a locked room.
