But what, exactly, is the White House reaction? Surprisingly, the issue was raised with White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs earlier this week, as Mediaite's Tommy Christopher risked lizard attack by asking whether or not the President had a statement on the issue:
Tommy Christopher: Robert, I have one question and one clarification. First, the new TV series on ABC, "V," a lot of people are talking about how this show draws very strong – Gibbs: I got to tell you - I'm going to start with this: I don't want to give anybody the impression I have time to watch anything other than what most of you all do each night. So I can't even tell you what that is or what it's about. If that makes me fairly un-cool, I tend to watch more "SpongeBob" than "V." Tommy Christopher:There have been a lot of news stories about this – Gibbs: Makes me a hit with one six-year-old, and that really is all that counts. Tommy Christopher: You haven't seen the news stories about how this show compares your administration to the alien invaders? (Laughter.) Seriously, really, you haven't heard about it? Q: He couldn't admit it if he had. (Laughter.) Gibbs: Because there's a chip in the back of my head that requires me - (laughter) - I don't mean to - I honestly - I got to tell you, I spend - I watch a little football on Saturday, a little football on Sunday, and a lot of news every other time. Q: Get a life. (Laughter.) Q: (Inaudible). Gibbs: Pardon me? Tommy Christopher: Fourteen million people watch it, and the show – Gibbs: And clearly, me not being one of them. Again, I – [Cross-talk.] (Laughter.) Gibbs: Hold on. I'm not entirely sure who I'd check on since I don't watch the show. Tommy Christopher: Well, check with the President, see if he has a reaction – Gibbs: I will assume that the President watches – Tommy Christopher:– comparing him to a space alien. Gibbs: What's the - which would probably, like, be one of the least worst things he's been called today.
The exchange ended with Gibbs being promised a tape of the show to review from ABC's Jake Tapper, which, if nothing else, should give ABC something new to promote the show with next week: "Officially screened at the White House at request of the President!" Here's hoping that his often-discussed love for sci-fi will get him through the derivative hour without being too distracted by a cast that includes Firefly, Dollhouse, Lost, The 4400 and Smallville refugees.
haha
I'm very confused, I kinda couldn't follow the hell was going on in this article.
So then who was spongebob?
I hate how the pop media and politics have fused together. Leave government alone they don't give a fuck about some stupid tv show.

I guess my V wasn't good enough :(
I guess my V wasn't good enough :(
I liked your V even though it's way of fucking topic but I hearted you <3
Why is it that the current administration seems to want to throw itself in to pop culture and the media? Its like every other day the current administration is either making a comment about some TV Show or some actor or something like that. I'd prefer the intelligent, corrupt politicians over the brain-dead, pop-icon politicians.

Hahaha, Gibbs should have just come right out and said "I don't watch the show, therefore I don't really give a shit."
I thought there was a "lol wut" comment.
I hate how the pop media and politics have fused together. Leave government alone they don't give a fuck about some stupid tv show.
It's about the reptilians, how is that not related to the government?
Reporter: "hurr wut du u tink bou a tv sho bout aliens and da gubamint?' What a waste of time. Nobody gives two shits about some shitty TV show. The show isn't edgy, it has no hidden political messages. It's a shit TV show. If you're going to a White House press conference, ask a relevant question or shut the fuck up.
What the hell were they going on about, I felt totally lost
lost
:lost:
I lol'd at how they were like "...a space alien is hardly the worst thing obama's been called today"
People were reading too deeply into it. The V Aliens were talking about change and creating a better world, and they were having a whole cadre of youth to help them. I guess that's where they're coming from, but it's still total shit. But this kind of stuff tends to happen in press conferences. The journalists tend to develop love-hate relationship with the press secretary and will mess with them.
Isn't this show a remake anyways? How exactly could it be attacking the current government if it's a remake :downs:
I'm very confused, I kinda couldn't follow the hell was going on in this article.
My brain fried. I could cook eggs with it.
Isn't this show a remake anyways? How exactly could it be attacking the current government if it's a remake :downs:
Are you fucking kidding me? Do you know how much shit they throw in remakes usually? They usually "modernize" it, alas fucking the original all up.
Gibbs?
Somehow, the OP managed to reference Spongebob Squarepants, NCIS, V For Vendetta and god knows what else all in one confusing quote box. [editline]05:17PM[/editline]
Gibbs?
Oh god dammit...
Morena Baccarin is in this? I was wondering where she ended up after Firefly.
BUT THEN WHO WAS THE SPONGEBOB? That was an extremely confusing interview. He seemed to be sidetracking a lot.
