and all religious people are retarded and below me.
You're not helping in the least.
And I never, ever said all muslims are terrorists. Stop putting words in my mouth.

You sure as hell imply it
why does it feel like I've read this, or something VERY similar to this, before? :raise:
Yh, I sware I've read this before
You sure as hell imply it
No, I don't. Nothing I've ever said implies that I think all muslims are terrorists. I may have implied that I think they're stupid, but not terrorists. YOU think that anyone who isn't going out of their way to appease islam thinks they're terrorists.
I read this same news article years ago.
People who resort to religion are weak and cowardly, including my former friend. It's like resorting to drugs, which was his vice beforehand, instead of working out your problems and becoming stronger as a result.
that's pretty arrogant of you. i doubt you've ever even been in the situations that make people turn to religion or drugs. the world can be a very miserable place and i only see you sitting at home on your computer bitching about how 'weak and cowardly' people are.
believe it or not, religion or drugs can be a solution to your problem, and make you stronger and a better person. i don't know any personal cases with religion (though, come to think of it, i doubt i need to), but a lot my friends become much more cheerful and less pessimistic about themselves when they started smoking weed and doing a few other fun drugs with me and my other friends.
the problem with you is that you are almost as religious as the people you complain about. you have a strict moral and condescending code that you vigorously believe in and slander everyone else that doesn't follow it. for you, dogmatically, drugs and religion make you 'weak'. i would say that making enemies because of your dogma is a bigger weakness, though.

Actually, I have. Stop making assumptions and then reaming me for doing the same. It is cowardly and counter-productive to rely on a crutch in order to help you cope with or ignore the problem instead of fixing it. I used to have severe depression. It started when I was 15 and didn't let up until I was 22. Because I got through years of weakness on my own, I am stronger than ever.
My friend on the other hand has become weak because he can no longer even think or live for himself, he simply follows directions that have been handed to him. He's like an artist who copies exactly from an art instructional manual with a paint-by-number, labelled grid as a canvas. He thinks he's better, he seems better, but it's an illusion. The irony is that he converted two years ago because a woman fucked with his heart/head and even though he claims god has given him so much to be happy about, he hasn't even DATED a single girl in that time, probably because he is creepy as fuck now (ask my wife) and has a one-track mind that revolves around god. Despite my hatred of religion, I can still have a normal conversation with friends when religion isn't brought up as a topic.
---
I smoke weed and a drink from time to time (I prefer weed, drinking sucks). Had I smoked weed when I was depressed, I'd probably still be there. Now that I am free of that, I can smoke weed to my heart's content and I always have a good time. The thing is, I do it in moderation. I do not need it, I am not using it to numb myself from any problems I have, I just use it to have fun.
---
You are right actually. In the past couple of days, some of the things you guys have said (not you Trotsky) have made me realise that this hatred is destructive and will consume me if I don't let go. I don't want to hate anyone, it takes too much time and energy and I'm getting tired of it. It'd be a lot easier if I could just have my friend back, which is all I ever wanted in the first place, but obviously that isn't going to happen.
The only religion I think is cool is buddhism because it teaches people to be accepting, tolerant, and kind to anyone no matter what their belief or orientation is.
I'm really sick of christians that look down on me cause I'm gay.

Congratulations, then.
When you speak of using religion and drugs as a crutch, are you sizing it up to your friend, here:
My friend on the other hand has become weak because he can no longer even think or live for himself, he simply follows directions that have been handed to him. Because, I would say that he is an example, but it's a stretch to compare him to other people who use religion or drugs to actually help themselves, not dig their way into a deeper hole and pretend it isn't happening. That, I would say, is something a bit deeper and like a rope tied into many knots.
Also, I do know someone like this, though not as 'bad'. He doesn't have any sense of direction and only wanted to be popular, not realizing shaping himself in his view of whatever is cool is only making him look dumber, and the target of a lot of peoples' insults. The result is, is that he's pretty miserable and does whatever me and my friends do that he thinks makes us 'cool' (including smoking weed and getting drunk). When we tried to tell him nobody bothers us because we don't care, he thought it meant turning into a hardass. I really don't understand him.

I don't want to sound like I'm pretending to be a psychologist, but I think you wouldn't be letting go of your hatred, but not letting yourself be hurt by your friend's predicament.

That's a big part of why I hate christianity actually, aside from aforementioned reasons. I can't stand that they're a religion of alleged tolerance and love and yet being who you are and loving someone who just happens to have the same parts that you have is a crime on par with murder in terms of the punishment.

Well either way I have to stop, it's not going to do shit. I bitch and moan and feel like I'm doing something but in reality I'm just pissing people off and wasting my time and energy.
What really pisses me off are those really right-wing christians that hate gays and such.

I guess that's why they're banning/revoking/dismissing gay marriage rights in the states, right-wing christian majority?

I would say so, more or less. Moderates really don't care about gay marriage.
lol so he moved from robbery to islam?
haha
that wasn't a move
