Strict IP laws do nothing but stifle innovation. If you don't want people to build on your ideas, don't put them out. Obviously copying a persons idea and claiming it as your own is bad, so "abolished" was the wrong word.

Oh well yeah IP laws can get shitty if too strict.
Oh by the way welcome back from your misguided ban, I actually gasped when I saw what it was supposedly for. <3
How is this even supposed to be possible?
Yet another reason why intellectual property laws need to be abolished.
I like how people are rating this dumb.
What, exactly, have copyright laws ever done to advance the cause of mankind?
It's just horrible abuse of trademark laws.
Best Buy corporation could sue an unlicensed place called "Best Buy", for obvious reasons. That's trademark. But this is just stupid.

Given people a reason to fucking write
Fun fact: Charles Dickens was a big campaigner for copyright laws, in a time when they were extremely loose, and the vast majority of his books were sold illegally, giving him no money.
I assume you're a gamer. How many of your favorite games do you think would've been written if they could be legally downloaded by anyone for free, with no legal repercussions, and this was well-known?
I assume you listen to some kind of music. How many of your favorite artists would've released their albums without copyright and royalties?
Guys:
Let's patent, copyright, and trademark...
patenting, copyrighting, or trademarking common everyday words, phrases, or ideas, that existed and were widely used before they were patented, or that an average layperson would be able to think of without actual knowledge of the field (ex. having multiplayer in games)
As in: let's patent patent trolling. So whenever some company sues someone for a bullshit patent, we sue them for infringing on our patent.

Lmao. Musicians don't make money off of album sells. It's all about concerts.

Well actually yeah I sort of knew that. All goes to corporations, welcome to the machine, have a cigar, etc.
Everything about IP laws goes against art.
We argue too much mate, I'm going to bed. Night night
Oh, wait. You're not a robot. Just a bad troll. Nevermind, then.
"oh god, he thinks my joke sucked.. uh.. fuck, what did ray william johnson tell me to say in a situation like this.."
"YOU'RE A TROLL LOL"
Including copyright, patents, AND trademarks? All gone?
Because stealing ideas is better than coming up with your own.
It should be revamped to make sure things are fucking specific, not vague.

I hope you realize I was criticising his viewpoint (which he then admitted was badly worded).

Your point?
Your point?
Creative Commons is what smaller unknown artists use to protect their work. Just take a couple seconds on Devianart and you'll see what I mean.
http://www.opensource.org/licenses/alphabetical
This too.
Licensing goes much farther than just words. You're actions affect a great number of people and by just saying, "Lets get rid of it" you're ignoring most of the smaller time people who can't legally go after a bigger corporation for mooching off their stuff
He probably knows what it is
He uses Linux mate he knows his copyleft stuff I'm sure
He probably knows what it is

Then he shouldn't be saying it should be abolished because he knows as well as I do that the small fry will get hurt 10 times worse than the larger corporations.
Obviously copying a persons idea and claiming it as your own is bad, so "abolished" was the wrong word.
Didn't see that bit :v:
I'll shush now. Sorry!
Yet another reason why intellectual property laws need to be abolished.
Yeah so I can write down some plans for a building, get them stolen, the thief openly sells them for a very high price and the law can do nothing for me. Huh, no thanks.

Please take some time to sit down and learn to read whenever you get the time. No rush.

Pornorollers.
Sanius, do you not feel that Valve Corporation would lose money were copyright abolished today, therefore inhibiting the incentive to produce further games?
Do you not feel that Warner Bros. Studios would lose money were copyright abolished today, therefore inhibiting the incentive to produce further movies?
I realize you said copyright shouldn't be abolished, but what I am doing is demonstrating that it does help in some cases.
Didn't I retract the abolish thing
I know, I'm sorry, I'm just demonstrating that copyright can be beneficial at times, and thus "everything about IP laws goes against art" is not true.
God don't I look dumb
then again I usually do when I argue with you
Fuck it I'm going to bed
For real good night! Love ya Sanius!
No homo
When I was at best buy I saw an employee spill his drink on a display computer and I laughed heartily at both him having a drink near a computer in a store and for spilling it. :v:
