You can't really expect more than 2 parties without proportional representation.

It works fine in Sweden where percentage of votes = percentage of seats in parliament, but here it means a party could get elected even if 90% of the country didn't vote for them.
With a two party system, more than half of the people who voted have to have supported the party.

Because the people that elected them are equally stupid, if not more.

The problem with democracy is that even stupid people get a say in government. The Republicans have simply taken the liberty of scooping them all up into one agenda.

Then there's that little neo-con get-rich-quick side agenda that nobody seems to notice.

well, what if the nation is 90 percent republican? obviously we need the ten percent sane people to have a say in government, or bad things will happen. its all about representing everyone.
