my damn comp cant even start the first mission
If MGSV can manage 60FPS why can't this? Just seems like poor optimisation and laziness on the developers' part.
When you give literally zero shits about making a good game, you tend to get laziness in the development department.
Oh god Ubisaft are really punishing themselves with all the bad press. Some of the glitches are funny though
I don't know about you but I play both on pc and console. I notice huge framerate drops in certain games depending on what is actually happening and honestly it should always stay at a 30 frames per second. Dark Souls 1, Halo 4, Mass Effect, Lords of the Fallen or GTA have extreme unstable framerates on consoles. It's always under 30 fps or hits the 30 fps barely. Those are a few examples, framerate should be at a steady 30 fps at all times, it's a bare minimum for games to play smoothly. Games like Destiny, Diablo 3, Dark Souls 2, Resident Evil 5 & 6, Shadow of Mordor run usually at 30 frames or even more. My point is that framerate on consoles is just highly variable and it is really annoying. Like I mentioned, more steady framerates would be a good start even if it sacrifices some graphical fidelity. Why the dumb?
The dumb was for you assuming this applies to MOST console games, with no statistic backing that up. From all my years of playing console games, there's some games that really struggle with FPS, but they seriously are a minority in the sea of video games. That's all there is to what I'm saying. I changed it to a friendlier disagree for you.
If MGSV can manage 60FPS why can't this? Just seems like poor optimisation and laziness on the developers' part.
That's because MGSV's draw distance is very short. You will see things popping in all the time. That game is extremely optimized, and if we're talking about Ground Zeroes, then it's also a very small game. We'll see how TPP fairs once it comes out cause it's going to be a huge game and we'll be able to see how Kojima Productions handles the larger scale environments on consoles. It seems AC Unity needs about a year's more work at least, just to get the game running at consistently above 30fps. Honestly, there's no reason why this game couldn't run at 1080p or 900p at 60fps. Just needs some extremely talented software engineers to make it happen, and a fair amount of time to work out all the kinks.
Granted Ubisoft is bad at optimization, the gen of consoles just feels underwhelming. I haven't seen any games blow me away because of how great the hardware is. All the consoles feel like Xbox 360 1.4 or PS3 1.4.
P.T./Silent Hills did that for me.
P.T./Silent Hills did that for me. [t]http://static1.gamespot.com/uploads/original/416/4161502/2647023-pt.jpg[/t] Running at steady 60FPS 1080P
Actually P.T. runs at 30 frames per second.
Actually P.T. runs at 30 frames per second.
Really? I played it and it felt silky smooth. Or maybe it was because i was a bit drunk and scared off my mind.
Are you sure that's not upscaled to 1080p? I dunno if its just me, but the aliasing on the third image really doesn't look like it was rendered at native 1080
"We are focusing on 24 FPS because that is the same frame rate you get with most movies. Therefor we cap all our games at 24 FPS for the true cinematic experience"
"What do you mean films are trying 120FPS?! Oh god, make them stop!"
P.T. is also basically just one room compared to a full open world. Also you can make dark and spooky stuff look way more realistic since everything is covered with grain filters and other stuff.
ground zeroes is the best example of a console game looking fantastic and running smoothly

I remember seeing videos early on claiming that PS3 sucked because the games looked like late-last gen games in HD.
This game is terrible. Both consoles are terrible. Get a Wii U.
This game is terrible. Both consoles are terrible. Get a Wii U.
People still have a hard on for rehashed nintendo games? Oh man, can't wait to buy a wii u so i can play smash 11 NOW WITH NINTENDODS, super mario kart galaxy world 21, legend of zelda link's awakening 26, and metroid 18 now in bikini.
Or Bayonetta, or Super toad 56, or Wonderful one o one
People still have a hard on for rehashed nintendo games?
They have only released 1 Mario kart, 1 Smash, and 1 or 2 zeldas per system But you know its only bad when nintendo does it
Yeah but you can't really deny the WiiU lacks a lot of third party support compared to all the other consoles and that's what's killing the system. Anyway, most people buy those consoles for Nintendo's games in the first place.
At this point I genuinely believe Ubisoft couldn't have made female assassins work. They can't make anything work.
3rd party support is not why you buy a WiiU.
And that's why nobody buys a WiiU
I hear the next assassins creed will feature PowerPoint compatibility
30 FPS isn't smooth to begin with
Its "Cinematics"
Roles reversed, everyone would be getting on xboxes ass. Bad optimization or not
That already happened. Remember the 900p/30fps cap? Supposedly the Xbox was the reason.
"Smoother" does not imply "smooth"

Smooth enough to play the fucking game without wanting to gouge your eyes out. 30FPS isn't all that bad, it could be better, but it's the bare minimum for a game to be really smooth enough to play without the graphics themselves fucking you over.
Well then, it may just be me, but after playing AC1 through AC4 on constant non-problematic 60 FPS, watching PS/Xbone gameplay of Unity does want me to gouge my eyes.
Hasn't it already been established that most Assassin Creed games are mainly the same? Or is that just Ubisoft trying to screw their own franchise over?
Hasn't it already been established that most Assassin Creed games are mainly the same? Or is that just Ubisoft trying to screw their own franchise over?
I'd be absolutely fine with the same since I do enjoy parkour and combat. But port quality has been falling fast with each release and that is not okay with me.
This game is terrible. Both consoles are terrible. Get a Wii U.
TBH the only thing keeping me from getting a Wii U is the lack of third party games. I know the exclusives are good, I'm still hyped for Smash 4, but I also want to play most of the other games this generation.
People still have a hard on for rehashed nintendo games?
metroid 18
That's just optimistic thinking. [editline]bleh[/editline] I have a feeling the reason Ubisoft dropping Wii U isn't because "there isn't a mature market" there, but it's because they can barely to get their game to run on higher end PCs, let alone the two unchanging hardware configurations for the PS4/Xbone Wii U would be a nightmare for them.
