People still have a hard on for rehashed nintendo games? Oh man, can't wait to buy a wii u so i can play smash 11 NOW WITH NINTENDODS, super mario kart galaxy world 21, legend of zelda link's awakening 26, and metroid 18 now in bikini.
According to your steam profile you enjoy you some sequels that arguable don't change much in a major way. But who cares. With the exception of actual plain rehashes why not judge the game by its own merits rather than saying "IT'S PART OF A SERIES! AUTOMATICALLY IT'S A REHASH!!!!" And actual rehashes like that new super mario bros for wii are usually spaced apart by several years. And even then, new features are added. One of nintendo's reasons for awhile for not making a new f-zero was that they didn't feel they could innovate at all with it.
ground zeroes is the best example of a console game looking fantastic and running smoothly
unless you're on ps3, then you're lucky to get 25 FPS :')
what do you know, 17fps is more photographic
I have a feeling the reason Ubisoft dropping Wii U isn't because "there isn't a mature market" there, but it's because they can barely to get their game to run on higher end PCs, let alone the two unchanging hardware configurations for the PS4/Xbone Wii U would be a nightmare for them.
Previous Ubisoft Wii U titles (and other 3rd party games for the platform) have sold very poorly. Sales barely covering the cost of porting multi-plats, and the Ubisoft's Wii U exclusive ZombiU made a loss for the company even though it was one of the biggest launch titles for the console. That and the Wii U doesn't belong in the current-gen hardware wise, it barely outguns the PS3 and 360 (indeed, its CPU is significantly inferior to those consoles), so as publishers start moving to developing current-gen only titles there is no future for the Wii U.
Big fucking surprise. Ubisoft is unable to properly optimize a game.....for any platform it seems. Maybe if Unity had less crowd density, it might actually run worth a shit.

CREATED BY TEN TEAMS OVER FOUR YEARS Oh God, that ad :v:
CREATED BY TEN TEAMS OVER FOUR YEARS Oh God, that ad :v:
Activision uses three teams and gives them three years to develop each call of duty, and they run MILES better than Unity. I understand CoD isn't the most physically demanding of games, but come the fuck on. There comes a time sooner or later when the bullshit has to end.
Hasn't it already been established that most Assassin Creed games are mainly the same?
Show me at least 5 examples where game sequels are vastly different in gameplay than releases before them? Start somewhere 2005 and go on.

I feel like your trying to defend Unity so now you're asking me a question. Resident Evil 4? Metal Gear Solid 4? Far Cry 3 (how ironic)? Persona 3? Splinter Cell Chaos Theory?
I think that what I played of the game has enough tweaked gameplay to make it feel fun. But I personally like the simple combat system. A lot better in this one seeing as you can't just insta-counter kill everything. The more and more games one make in a franchise, the harder it is to "innovate".

You were saying?
To have the Xbone outperforming the Ps4 is quite frankly amazing, how they managed to have an inferior console do that is anyone's guess. Ubisoft are so incompetent that they transcend the boundaries into becoming (in)competent again.

We've seen a few examples of that already.
I'm calling this right now: by the end of the generation Ubisoft is going to be bullshitting their framerates down to 15FPS, probably something like this: "Well since our shiny new innovative Assassin's Creed game is set in the 1900s we thought it gave it an authentic early film look", bonus points if they also bring the res down to 144p.
As i mentioned numerous times, xbone has less crowd than ps4.
Why would they gimp their game even more by putting in more NPC's? How is this acceptable?

The gaming community already is defending 30fps for a long time, that basically has been the standard. Moving to 15fps is a problem because it's below the typical limit of simulated motion for people. For some people it's 13-15fps. So I can easily call that it won't happen.
Agreed. 15 FPS is just ridiculous, even for those who are completely comfortable with 30 FPS. I can play with 30 FPS as long as it is constant and doesn't stutter and drop below that.
Show me at least 5 examples where game sequels are vastly different in gameplay than releases before them? Start somewhere 2005 and go on.
Mass Effect
Why would they gimp their game even more by putting in more NPC's? How is this acceptable?
No idea, but on video comparison between Xbone and PS4, where PS4 has less frames it has noticeably more NPCs on the scene. [editline]15th November 2014[/editline]
Mass Effect
Nice one, it's actually a great example, along with The Witcher.
No idea, but on video comparison between Xbone and PS4, where PS4 has less frames it has noticeably more NPCs on the scene.
Not sure about this, haven't seen any definitive comparisons to show the Xbox One version has less NPCs. The Xbox One version was running mid-20s to 30 fps throughout the video, where the PS4 was consistently about 5 fps lower and only close when the Xbox One was comfortably sitting on the 30 fps cap (such as running on the roof top). Possible explanation might be down to the CPU, Ubisoft was saying the game is CPU limited because of the AI required for the huge crowds, and this is the one area of hardware where the Xbox One is superior to the PS4.
Granted Ubisoft is bad at optimization, the gen of consoles just feels underwhelming. I haven't seen any games blow me away because of how great the hardware is. All the consoles feel like Xbox 360 1.4 or PS3 1.4.
Have you seen Ryse, Killzone Shadow Fall, Driveclub, The Order:1886, Quantum Break, or Uncharted 4?
