The UK is in 5th place for countries with the highest number of adult obesity cases, with 25% of the adult population qualifying as obese, not merely overweight. For the U.S., 34% of the adult population falls within the obese range.
The number of adults in both the UK and US who qualify as "overweight" is roughly the same by comparison, with the US at 68% and the UK at 61%. Regardless, the difference isn't large enough to warrant a fat stereotype for one country and not the other.
