Honestly I think that soldiers should have diplomatic immunity for things that happen in Afghanistan like that. Sure they murdered some civilians but do you really think they would think twice about shooting every civilian in sight over here? If anything it creates some sort of fear factor that the soldiers need..
Sure they murdered some civilians but-
No, there is no fucking 'but', right there, they murdered innocent fucking civilians and should be charged and put on trial. [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] Diplomatic immunity? The hell is wrong with you?
Morlock also implicated the four other members of his infantry unit's so-called "kill team" and agreed to testify further against them if called as a prosecution witness for their courts-martial.
To reemphasize what phaedon pointed out because everyone seems oblivious to it. 24 Years is the sentence for the guy who is getting the rest of them put away, if you cooperate and rat on people, you always get a much shorter sentence than you would otherwise.
American soldiers, being court marshaled for killing civvies? Has hell frozen over?
I don't know what's more fucked up, the murderer or the 24 year sentence.
You. Moreover I think we should give soldiers a go-ahead to kill civilians, because in my retarded opinion soldiers thinking twice before opening fire is way worse than killing innocent women and children. "
What people could do is take the age of every person murdered by the murderer, and add up on it which would equal in how many years he gets in prison. Say, he murders one 20 year old, and 1 15 year old, he'd get 35 years in prison. Could that work? The murderers would get to spend the total lifetime of each individual he murdered in prison.
Sure, lets give a guy who killed 5 people in a retirement home 400 years in prison, and a guy who killed 5 newborn children 5 months. [editline]28th March 2011[/editline] I mean, holy shit, where are you people coming from?
not saying the murder of civilians is good but think about this.we catch taliban members and they only get a few years in prison and they have to get treated good or everyone throws a fit.24 years for 2 people is a force they should lower the sentence to like 5-10.
American soldiers, being court marshaled for killing civvies? These men were completely aware of their actions and just did it for a few laughs.

I'm all for shorter prison times and rehabilitation, but that's a bit extreme for me.
