• [US] Shots Fired At Capitol Hill. Literally.

"incapacitated" would sound more like the statement for "pretty much dead" than "in custody" but we all know news crews tend to pick up the first whisper and shout it out in hopes of being the first to report details on stuff that gets viewers
Also CNN is saying that her condition is not known, so I'm not sure if she's dead. I highly doubt it because the police said they have the suspect in custody.
The police haul your body bag away, you're in custody. . . and zip-locked.
Which is still tantamount to treason. They are paid (still paid, mind you, despite running us into the ground) to keep the country running. Not only have they brought us to a grinding halt, they have brought us to a grinding halt over an attempt to remove funding for a law that has been held up by every branch of the Federal government. The president signed it into law, it passed both sides of congress, and it reached the Supreme court of the United States, where it was still upheld. Attempting to bypass all checks and balances on the government and destroying us in the process is unforgivable. If we weren't completely fucked right now, I would suggest that the ringleaders openly admitting that they are refusing the pass a budget because of the ACA be rounded up and placed on trial for treason. Refusing to fund a program that has passed all measures of constitutionality and democratic checks is not okay.
Our representatives are not paid to keep the country running, they are paid to represent their constituents. If they feel that shutting down the government is what is best for their constituents, they've done their job. Of course not every congressman acted to shut down the government because the government isn't some unified body you can point your finger at and lay blame (don't tell that to anyone though, it makes things more challenging to think about).
I dont know why you are all trying to make this something more than what it is. Some female ran from the cops with a child in the back seat, tried to ram the white house gate, and got guns shot at her because of it. Shes in custody. One officer is injured. Not terrorism.
Isn't it impossible to say if it was or was not until her motives are discovered?
By definition, yes. However, if she was truly a terrorist she probably would not have stopped for the police to begin with.. nor drive in circles before heading to the white house.
with her kid in the car? what the shit
If she's willing to start a police car chase, involve the use of guns and even ram shit I don't think she cares for the kid.
Doesn't seem like she had a gun at all. She was shot because of malicious driving.
Doesn't seem like she had a gun at all. She was shot because of malicious driving.
Her weapon was the car thus the gunfire directed at her.

It was intentionally built to support two parties, to become arduous and slow to the point of near freezing when government could not act in a way that satisfies multiple components, and to support the minority of the property holders into public office and immunize them from the effects of the system's promotion of liberty. So I blame the government.

So I blame the government.
You are correct in your description of the system, as you put it. That is what the Founders intended. I still don't think it's accurate to say "the government" because it implies that everyone involved is at fault and that every official is part of some greater organism that acts cooperatively.
Looks like the ~Founders~ made a load of dumb decisions
Looks like the ~Founders~ made a load of dumb decisions
After having watched Deep Space Nine rather recently this post confused me for a bit

The entire thing, all the individuals and all, work for the benefit of that system, to work within it and benefit off it, to support it and work with it, and of course every one of them belongs to a class unrepresentative of the majority of the people and work in the interest of that class. So to an extent, I still say that the lot of them, all 535, are coherently working together to an extent.
Woman killed at Capitol apparently feared Obama was stalking her, sources say
Oh....
The officer hurt was a result of this http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1312644 not of the shots fired fyi
You can watch it here. A woman rammed the barricade, failed, was shot at, and drove away.
So wait, all the gunfire was from the police? A couple early articles and interviews made it sound like an absolute firefight.
So wait, all the gunfire was from the police? A couple early articles and interviews made it sound like an absolute firefight.
First everyone made it sound like: Jihad tried to ram a gates, then shots two police men and fled, then got shot during chase. Also 3 pages of this thread went into a god damn politics again.
So wait, all the gunfire was from the police? A couple early articles and interviews made it sound like an absolute firefight.
The news said "shots fired". Never said from where... :v:
The officer hurt was a result of this http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1312644 not of the shots fired fyi
Friendly fire incident.
So until further info pops up, crazy woman with her one-year-old daughter in the car tries to ram the White House fence because she's scared of Obama, fails horribly, and then the police come up while she tries to drive away or something and mow her down? Apparently managing to hit one of their own men in the process? That sum up things so far that aren't the pointless political debate on the past two pages that has nothing to do with the topic at hand?
The news said "shots fired". Never said from where... :v:
I was referring to other articles. Here's one such example. http://observer.com/2013/10/gunfire-in-the-capital-female-suspect-shot/
Washington, D.C. as a female suspect engaged in a firefight with officers after trying to ram the gates of the White House.

eventually driving off at 80 mph and having a final shoot-out with the police on Constitution Ave.
Firefights and shootouts are not one-sided.
So, if the suspect (Miriam Carey) wasn't armed and the shots fired weren't by her even though she rammed the gates and took off, then why did they kill her? I know she was near the White House, but why didn't they attempt to shoot the tires or at least try subdue methods? Police for the most part know how to deal with people out of their heads, it happens all the time in major cities, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Phoenix, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston etc. I saw some situations take place over the years, once on a trip to Cincinnati and then in Detroit. Then another while I was in Las Vegas. Things happen here in New Orleans all the time. Has DC become so schizophrenic, essentially they just shot an unarmed terrified single mother that had some mental history herself?
