This kind of action deserves direct protest.
Violates a constitutional right. no way in hell this will pass
That didn't stop the Patriot Act.
The fact is is that the program they're asking for is impossible. How the hell will the program detect "illegal" Material?
That didn't stop the Patriot Act.
The Patriot act was the idea of the USA government itself, and they had feared people into believing it was necessary. Average people who haven't been conditioned into thinking pirating is terrible, won't agree with this.
Good question. For that matter, what would it do to our ports of models and ragdolls from other games if it works? Rate me whatever, but it's a legitimate question of concern. When will those old political fucks learn? That shit like this has the opposite effect on your citizens.
The fact is is that the program they're asking for is impossible. How the hell will the program detect "illegal" Material?
White listing. I really hope they do it so that I can laugh my ass off.
I'd die laughing if a company like F-Secure (that isn't based in the USA) adds this to their database and removes it from every computer its installed on, and then the US government starts bawwing to the company about it :v:
Fuck the RIAA and MPAA. They can all go suck a dick.

The Google fucking over China thing is just a huge PR attempt to get people to love Google.
:suicide:
I don't want to buy music though, I hope this never happens.
This literally can't get through unless people are willing to overwrite the entire constitution, which I don't think you can even trick people into doing so easily. [editline]04:57PM[/editline] Not at least after the US admitted the Piracy numbers were fake.
Not going to happen Period
Just use Linux or Mac
:cawg:
Microsoft wont comply either.
what the hell
Fuck them. How the fuck am I going to get my Ke$ha music now?
If someone writes a script that deletes it outside the US and hosts it outside the US.... they can't do shit
I would love to see the Fucking RIAA and MPAA try to shove this shit through government, it would get shot down faster than a lightning bolt. Can anyone say Invasion Of Privacy.
Their bill sounds more like the list of demands from a terrorist group, no more chance of government enforced spyware and border searches than the west converting to Islam.
They forgot about smartphones. They are just as capable at downloading things through torrents and such nowadays. Short of having gigabit ethernet or huge hard drives. And I've got a computer that runs Windows 95. If they make it support an OS that old, I applaud them.

This sound's like a great idea which upholds the values of the modern American family.
Sounds like another great reason to download music and movies. Keep fuckin that chicken, RIAA/MPAA.
