Man fuck that, I loved Garfield sorry haters but that man was spider man, man [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] This is legitimately upsetting
Man I don't remember Peter Parker having the social skills of a retarded 12 year old who can't make a complete sentence.
Please have Fox do the same with X-Men.
The X-men work WAY better in their own universe. The whole plot device of "everyone hates mutants" falls apart once you realize that people can magically tell the difference between someone who has the x-gene and someone who just got super powers by other means. For example: Spiderman or Doctor Strange or Daredevil swoop in and stop a bank robbery, everyone will be all excited and cheering em on and shit. Same scenario, except replace Spiderman with Havok or Cyclops, suddenly everyone hates him and is yelling at him for being a mutant and all that.

If Marvel do do Green Goblin we better get this
He was too cool, Toby nailed the fact that Peter Parker was an awkward dude and Spiderman is a smart ass cool dude.
I see Garfield as The Spectacular Spider man version of peter parker, and I thought he did both Parker and Spider man really well.
But what I'm saying is how does the average joe know he's even a mutant compared to someone like spiderman?
By this point it's probably group association stuff. Spiderman's repeatedly gotten shat on, framed, and otherwise, but just about always crawls back up on his own or with help from close friends back to his heroic position. The X-Men on the other hand are actively fighting both bad guy groups and other mutants, and the collateral can be far larger than what Spiderman himself usually can do; combine that with more directly associating themselves as the 'good' mutants versus whatever Magneto and others do, and it's more of a representational kind of thing I guess. The lone do-gooder who punches out bank robbers and the occasional super-powered baddie against the group of powerful beings that could level half of New York singlehandedly on a real bad day.
No Andrew Garfield, no Toby Maguire yes Donald Glover
He's black, kill him!
Lets hope it results in less ranting from me this time. The Amazing Spider-Man was a kick in the balls as a fan of the original and really extinguished any hope to me of seeing another Spider-Man film with the quality of the second. Hell I didn't even see the second film and I personally don't want to either.
Marvel won't let Sony ruin Spider-Man again. Marvel knows their shit.
We'll see, bar Iron Man and Guardians Of The Galaxy I haven't really found the cinematic universe that good. It seems mostly focused on crowd pleasing special effects than the script or story.
So basically there's going to be a Spider-Man movie in the MCU, but Sony's doing the most part? Did I get that right?
So Spiderman is staying with MCU or is it just a x amount of media?
Too old
Civil War has an older Spider-Man. Maguire still looks pretty young anyways, he could pass for a Peter Parker in his late 20s or early 30s.
[sp]I think Topher Grace would be a cool spiderman[/sp]
Hope it's another reboot.
Donald Glover please
No more Amazing Spider-Man movies from Sony?! The curse has been lifted!
I agree. That would be a better choice to do if they do want to change something significant about this new Spiderman.
There is absolutely no need to change anything about Spiderman, keep him as the white Peter Parker we know and love. Don't need anymore confusion, especially after what happened with FF.
Jonah Hill for Spidey! [editline]10th February 2015[/editline]
So basically there's going to be a Spider-Man movie in the MCU, but Sony's doing the most part? Did I get that right?
Marvel Studio would be more involved together with Sony in the production but Sony still handles the financing and distribution of the movie.
There is absolutely no need to change anything about Spiderman, keep him as the white Peter Parker we know and love. Don't need anymore confusion, especially after what happened with FF.
Personally, I wouldn't mind it being kept the same. But, if they want their spider man to be unique, there are many ways to do it.
So Spiderman is staying with MCU or is it just a x amount of media?
The subtext I get from what they're saying is this: Sony owns movie SM but for some reason can't make money with him. Marvel can make money with a raccoon and a tree. Marvel would like to use SM for its movie universe. So then, Marvel reboots SM in its movie universe. That hugely benefits Marvel obviously. Sony then 'takes back' SM and makes a NEW series of SM movies, sprung out of what Marvel did for them. Marvel also helps produce the new SM movies, ie Marvel is in creative control. Sony retains ownership of SM movie rights and therefore has the final say, saving face. Marvel is going to tell Sony how to make SM movies and technically Sony doesn't have to listen but why make this deal unless you're desperate for some of Marvel's mojo?

Now watch MCU Spidey be Japanese Spider-Man, I want to see Spider-Man vs Professor Monster on the big screen.
Marvel won't let Sony ruin Spider-Man again. Marvel knows their shit.
they casted bendict cumberbatch as doctor strange
they casted bendict cumberbatch as doctor strange
He looks strange enough.
they casted bendict cumberbatch as doctor strange
And DC casted Heath Ledger as the Joker, and he killed it. There have been a lot of unlikely casting choices in comic book movies, and a lot of actors adapted to the roles. That's what being an actor is all about.
they casted bendict cumberbatch as doctor strange
He can probably do it, it's just one of those castings that sounds a little off. Just a shame we'll have to wait over a year and a half to see how it turns out.
