they casted bendict cumberbatch as doctor strange
and? he's a good actor
I just want to point out, this deal gives the MCU it was somewhat lacking in. Good villains. Dont get me wrong, Loki, Ultron, and Thanos are/will make great villains, Red Skull was great, Obidiah Stane was fine, but the rest were either kind of eh or [sp]Mandarin[/sp], some of the best Marvel villains belong to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and, especially, Spider-Man. They can presumably use them all now, so that'd include Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Carnage, Kraven The Hunter, Mysterio, and in general The Sinister Six, and all his other villains, big or small. He can also team up with Daredevil now. [editline]10th February 2015[/editline] Unfortunate that some changes were already made because of Spider-Mans not-being in the MCU, like Iron Patriot not being Norman Osborn, or Phil Urich not working for the Daily Bugle (Daredevil netflix) but now they can fix it.
"It has great villains but it lacks good villains." Bwuh?
"It has great villains but it lacks good villains." Bwuh?
I mean like, some Spider-Man villains like Norman Osborn have fought characters like Iron Man before, who doesnt exactly have a star-lineup of antagonists. Iunno, maybe im just getting overexcited at the possibility of Venom punching out Captain America.
they casted bendict cumberbatch as doctor strange
While I agree it's a weird casting choice, and I much rather have had Jack Huston be signed to play it. I'm still going to give it a chance. They have the potential to make Cumberbatch a good Dr. Strange.

My reasons: One, Marvel wants NOTHING in their MCU that isn't controlled by them. Edgar Wright's Antman is an example. Does Marvel want to go to the time and expense of creating an entire movie universe for Sony? Hell no! There are doing it with Spider-Man becauses it's worth it...for Spider-Man. So I think Sony, using the formula they get from Marvel, will handle the villains. Once they learn how to present Spider-Man properly they can build the right style and tone of villains. Sony may borrow characters from Marvel, but they will be Marvel controlled and created. Marvel is not going to build a Sony Cinematic Universe, then watch Sony make all the money. Sony will have to build it. Marvel wins because an Avengers movie with Spider-Man! That's over 2 billion dollars easy worldwide boxoffice. Sony wins because now their franchise isn't crap. The audience wins because it's the closest thing to what we want to see. A Marvel owned Spider-Man would be best, but a Marvel created Spider-Man is pretty much the same.

Hulk, for example, his distribution rights are still property of Universal, but he's still used, and those rights only extend to solo films. But the studio won’t receive a cut of the earnings for any of Sony’s Spider-Man films, and Sony won’t get a cut of the Marvel films that feature Spider-Man. (Marvel also controls the merchandising rights to Spidey.)
As i suspected, like Hulk, whatever Marvel does wont help Sony besides publicity and setting up storylines. So i dont see why they wouldnt use Spidey characters.
I always did wonder if Spidey would have anything to say after the Chitauri blew up half of New York.
this too
context? that looks hilarious
As i suspected, like Hulk, whatever Marvel does wont help Sony besides publicity and setting up storylines. So i dont see why they wouldnt use Spidey characters.
"Help" means more than money. A Marvel created movie Green Goblin vs a Sony created movie Green Goblin, which would you rather have? That's why Marvel wouldn't use the villains. It would mean in effect creating the entire Spider-Man cinematic universe for Sony. Sony would then plug those actors and characters into their standalone Spider-Man movies, of which all the money goes to Sony. Why would Marvel do that? I don't see Green Goblin adding enough value to the MCU to justify it. All most people want to see is Spider-Man, no one really cares if his gang of associated villains comes along too.
context? that looks hilarious
In Marvel's most compelling and emotional story, "Web Of Lies", Spider-man finds out the venom of the spider that gave him his powers also gave him severe brain damage, and many of the things that happened in his life were constructs of his own mind, including Mary Jane herself. After discovering that he was actually the one who murdered Gwen Stacy, he falls into depression and becomes an alcoholic, throws away his life savings and resorts to living on the streets. Months later, Iron Man finds himself being hunted by a handful of villains while his armor is damaged and decides to hide in an abandoned building, where he encounters Peter Parker and, in an emergency procedure with no anesthetics, gives him brain surgery and Spider-Man then finds the courage to defeat all of the people who were after Stark. Peter then asks how he's supposed to rebuild his life and Tony tells him that. [editline]12th February 2015[/editline] nah jk no idea where thats from

Yet I still couldn't put it past comic book writers to do this.
context? that looks hilarious
Pretty sure it's from a montage here Iron Man and Cap were building the New Avengers.
Yet I still couldn't put it past comic book writers to do this.
They made a story with some truly astounding plot holes where Spider-Man, following Civil War, makes a deal with the devil to save Aunt May by destroying his marriage, undoing 20 years or so of continuity in the process. Not to mention the final story arc of The Amazing Spider-Man. Yeah, they could probably do this.
i really want a good MCU pete movie before we do morales like if you want to kill him in the next movie to do miles sure, i like miles but pls let me have this
