Pope Francis supports Argentina's claim over Falklands. Argentinians hopeful for 1st Falklands Crusa

The new Pope can suck my nuts, the Islanders want to be British and the whole of Argentina will die before they get the Falklands if that doesn't change.
Round 2, 10 rounds out the back by the freezers toe to toe.
Would Argentina like another spanking?
Regardless, it's nice to see that the Vatican hasn't broke the tradition of electing spazzy bastards to the position of Head Kiddy Fiddler.
"The Lord has said that the islands are now mine gibe Falklands pls"
Hrm....
Love how the Pope's been in the Vatican for less than a day and he's already shown that he's a gibbering moron.
gj bro
time to start conscripting Levy Spearmen on the Falkland Island and upgrading the castle.

Or recruiting fencibles and upgrading settlement fortifications, if you're shit at total war like me and can only play the recent ones because they're so simplified.
His holiness, Pope Francis I, has been swayed by the cries from the Argentine population in the British Overseas Territory of the Falkland Islands. He urges all able-bodied Catholic men of Argentina to take up arms against the evil Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in order to secure the Falklands from the Anglican infidels
Deus Vult!

Oppressed penguins under the Tyrannical Queen Elizabeth II
Well what a whole argie-barge this is.
It is funny because 99,8% voted pro british, if self-determination still has anything to say, the Island is british and should stay british.

Just build a few Carracks to defeat their 10 galleys.
Just got into power and he's already stating stupid shit.
No, it's not. Both are irredeemable bloodshed based on arbitrary religious reasons.
way to oversimplify centuries of complex political and religious history.
Pope Frank won't do shit. I'm sure now that he's pope he'll distance himself from the debate as much as possible.
Literally 3 people don't want the Falklands to be influenced by Britain, and, if I recall correctly, 1 or 2 of them want Falklands to be independent. I don't care about distance, geographic bullshit, or whatever amount of oil is down there, let the people choose what they want.

That is the most likely outcome.
People in this thread seem to be confusing what he said as Cardinal with what he's saying now. The Pope has yet to make any statement regarding the Falklands in any way.
Sorry, Britain still wins this
Was there ever a good pope? They all seem like poop

He's a politician, were you expecting something different?

Why would they politicize football.

Men of Harlech stop your dreaming,
Can't you see their spear points gleaming?
See their warrior pennants streaming
To this battlefield!
Tally ho!

Yeah, like every minor politician who ever rose to a position of prominence.
Because only half of this thread's posters seem to have actually read the 2 line OP, much less the entire linked article (which does not surprise me at all):
HE HASN'T SAID ANYTHING RELATING TO THE FALKLANDS RECENTLY.
Argentina just hopes they'll have more support now. However, there's no indication that anything will come of this hope. (click through the link and read the subtitle)
Argentina's president, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, hopes to have won a powerful new ally in her campaign to wrest the Falklands from British control with the election of Jorge Mario Bergoglio as pope.
The archbishop of Buenos Aires is on record as saying the islands were "usurped" by Britain, raising the possibility that he could use his position as leader of the world's 1.2 billion Roman Catholics to influence the future of the Falklands.
Not to mention he claimed they were "usurped" while he was still an archbishop. It probably doesn't hold up at all today.

Football is way more politicised than you would think.
