DOes anyone have a list of Active and failed instruments on both Rosetta and the Philae?

One day, even if we don't live to see it, we as a species will leave this star system and see with our own eyes what lies beyond. We have the minds to make it happen.
That is the magnetic field of the comet which is oscillating at a low frequency. Converted to sound and with the frequencies multiplied by 10000, it created something like a song.
Remarkably sounds much like this except made up of clicks. Lets hope Philae harpoons plenty of space rocks. I must know if we can make portals with them.
It makes me wonder, if it was launched 10 years ago, doesn't that mean it's technology on board is kind of outdated/old/obsolete? I mean compared to todays.
Sweet.
It makes me wonder, if it was launched 10 years ago, doesn't that mean it's technology on board is kind of outdated/old/obsolete? I mean compared to todays.
Oh, sure. But still reliable enough to get the job done right. It was launched in 2004, after all, and we already had some pretty great stuff back then.
Now the real work can begin

Hail and congratulations to Europe.
DOes anyone have a list of Active and failed instruments on both Rosetta and the Philae?
This is in no way official but I think primary battery and Yebox due to the temp of -9999c
Oh, sure. But still reliable enough to get the job done right. The manifest destiny speech from the NASA rep is just great.
I really wonder how it'll look from the surface up close.
Missed the speech. What do you mean by Manifest destiny?
Harpoons work on comets, harpoons also work on whales, therefore, comets really are the whales of space
that's some deep shit, man
The company I work for made the actuators and batteries for this thing :v: [editline]e[/editline] And the Active Decent System as well
"Emily Lakdawalla @elakdawalla · 19s 19 seconds ago Wait, belay that last...an update from Cologne says lander is moving....which means it is not stable.." anchors didn't fire
Apparently the anchors didn't fire so they're considering re-attempting to fire them. aka, they're down but not secure. dammit winstonn
"Emily Lakdawalla @elakdawalla · 19s 19 seconds ago Wait, belay that last...an update from Cologne says lander is moving....which means it is not stable.." anchors didn't fire
I certainly hope they find a way to anchor it. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] Affixing yourself to a tiny, spinning ball of ice that's constantly spitting out pieces of itself can't be easy.
I certainly hope they find a way to anchor it.
They can still fire the anchors I think, they're just deciding whether to do so If it's not securely fixed it could get quite problematic when the comet gets more active as it nears the sun
Thing is, right now, mission control is sending commands to the lander, but whatever has happened already happened more than half an hour ago. I hope it works.
Ground control to Major Tom, Your harpoons stuck, there's something wrong...
oh shit
A random question: Do you think human race will ever be extinct? then cities will be burried under earth/dust/sand and eventually earth will be just seen as plain planet with/without water and sand? I mean it creeps me out to think that if Voyager 1 golden record is ever found by other species say billion years from now, they see pictures, music and humans and come to earth just to find out they are late, and everything that ever existed on earth is now pretty much dead.

Anyone believing otherwise has no idea about physics. Everything will end, Nothing is permanent.
