because it's self-rated by the developers and they want to stir up as much controversy as they can for publicity
No its not, they were even talking to the ESRB guy about ways to reduce the rating. There was a whole storm about it because the devs feared no one would be able to buy their game as they couldn't sell it to retailer.
Fuck me, Thrill Kill? I'm getting all sorts of flashbacks.
Technically, Thrill Kill was never actually released to the public.
Technically, Thrill Kill was never actually released to the public.
Yeah but shit if that shit wouldn't be rated Adult Only just for context like Hatred is. There's a lot that's fucked up in the characters' backstories and endings. How the fuck did I play this game when I was like 7 or 8

Can you stream unrated games? Can I stream the literal Ethnic Cleansing video game?

I don't understand. If there's an option to display, "This is a mature stream" AND the fact that people really don't just jump to a random stream. I'm sure they know what they want to see, so if the people who want to see Hatred or whatever want to see it, let them. The people who want to go watch League or DOTA or whatever else don't have to. They can clearly see the stream rating, as well as the game they're playing. And honestly, if you're curious about the game and want to watch it (If you're like an edgy 14 year old or something) then I'm 100% positive you could simply look up gameplay videos. Just let people stream/watch what they want to. It's not like YouTube where there is some ambiguity on some videos where you might accidentally stumble onto something not too good. While Twitch shows what they're playing and if you know what the game is, you know exactly what to expect.
This summer, I'm gonna make a bunch of new E-mail accounts to make a crapload of new twitch accounts to stream Hatred.
The easiest way to not see Adult content is to not fucking watch it lmao
Why does it matter, provided there's a way to flag a stream as being porn or whatever else? If that's another user base twitch can make money from, all while not impacting anyone who doesn't want to see those sorts of things, why is it a big deal?
It wouldn't be "no rules" if "no porn allowed" is a rule.
It wouldn't be "no rules" if "no porn allowed" is a rule.
Flag as in the streamer would flag their own stream to say "this stream has porn in it" and then users would have explicitly state they want to see streams flagged as having porn or whatever to see such streams. So, effectively, anyone that doesn't want to see stuff like that wouldn't have to, and those that did could. The only downside is if twitch is focused on trying to be family friendly or something, though that point is mute when plenty of violent games are perfectly fine apparently.
