too bad you get fucking mouth cancer, even worse teeth, and gum disease gg
well yea you still die but at least youre not inconsiderate! :)
I don't like smoke, breathing in smoke feels as if my lung capacity is reduced by 40%, so it makes me want to take bigger breaths, but I start coughing if I do.
Unless you only smoke on occasion, smokers tend to always reek of smoke and I find that revolting. When you get in an old car or house you can always tell whether or not it's been occupied by a smoker because it smells like ass. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] I don't care if people smoke, I'll smoke a cigar if the occasion is right, but you can't deny it smells terrible.
Yes, believe it or not we can deny it smells terrible. I love the smell for example, but I understand that the majority of people aren't fond of it. Not trying to be aggressive, just don't assert something as objective when it really isn't!
I think one of the reasons I'm so against smoking is because I've lost a lot of close family to it. Almost everyone on my mother's side smoked growing up, and I spent a lot of time in hospitals and funeral parlors because of it. When you see someone you love hooked up to ventilators, IVs, blood oxygenators, and all plethora of medical equipment for something totally preventable, it changes the way you look at what caused it. My grandmother's been a chain smoker since the 60s. She's had several cancer scares which stress out the family like you wouldn't believe. Every time she visits, it takes a couple days for the smoke smell to dissipate. I don't want to be like that, and I don't like that someone can be so inconsiderate, not just to others, but to themselves. Your actions affect people, whether you think they do or not. Fucking act like it.
If that father was smoking weed and not tobacco, I could imagine discussion in this thread wouldn't be about evil smelly weed smokers, and more about the evil father himself
too bad you get fucking mouth cancer, even worse teeth, and gum disease gg
Still you dont kill people around you due to second hand.
too bad you get fucking mouth cancer, even worse teeth, and gum disease gg
And you smell like menthol and cow shit all day. My uncle's dad dips, you can smell it from ten feet away.
If that father was smoking weed and not tobacco, I could imagine discussion in this thread wouldn't be about evil smelly weed smokers, and more about the evil father himself
probably because weed smells nice and doesn't cause physical dependence.
Still you dont kill fucking thousands of people around you due to second hand.
Unless its in a small enclosed area or a building the second hand smoke isn't going to have an effect on your health unless you are actively trying to inhale it. The real problem is inconsiderate people and chain smokers who have to smoke. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline]
probably because weed smells nice and doesn't cause physical dependence.
I can't stand the smell of weed since I quit smoking it. Makes me sick and was also one of the most addictive things I've ever done mentally. Weed does cause physical dependence as well its just not that bad.

The real problem is inconsiderate people and chain smokers who have to smoke.
You dont have asthma do you?I do and I cant stand next to someone smoking, it makes me almost faint from lack of oxygen. Thousands of people die every year from inhaling second hand smoke and you are telling me its not affecting peoples health?
Still you dont kill people around you due to second hand.
I've been around second hand a few times I didn't feel like I was dying, an asthmatic person might though
I've been around second hand a few times I didn't feel like I was dying, an asthmatic person might though
I guess its very individual, but snus is still way better than cigarettes are. Snus only damages yourself and not anyone nearby you, and it does also not require huge plantations that destroy large quantities of rain forests to produce it.

It is not the issue, nor productive to have a tyrade on smokers just because a very bad person in an article smoked. The issue was that the caregiver was heinously neglectful and irresponsible, don't misplace your condemnation and take focus away from the bad thing that happened to go off on a tangent on something apart from the issue for the satisfaction of condemning something that bothers you. The article is to expose the father, arguing away from what happened and making it about you and your experiences is selfish and taking attention away from everything else that happened to the victim. The father was bad and smoked. Smoking did not cause him to be bad, how he treated his son made him bad.
I don't get why people are hating on smoking so much - sure, it's not healthy, sure, you don't want to do it. But sorry, why shouldn't other people smoke? And why should they be looked down upon for smoking? Seriously, some of you need to get your heads out of your arses because people smoke for various reasons initially and then have trouble quitting, granted, the parent is in the wrong here - should the child be removed instantly though, or after multiple visits to check up? Seems irrational.
The guy also mad mental health problems and did cocaine, it wasn't just the smoking.
The thing about it relieving stress is a misunderstanding. What it does is create stress when you don't have it - that is the basis of an addiction.
Am I the only one that finds this attitude to be the most annoying aspect of smokers? Like in reality it's the most boring drug on the planet and does pretty much nothing other than wreck your health but they act like everyone who doesn't smoke is some lifeless prude
What are you talking about? That tobacco company sponsored tv show in my childhood showed all of the cool kids doing it.
too bad you get fucking mouth cancer, even worse teeth, and gum disease gg
Snus has been shown to not cause these things in peer reviewed studies. I'll go dig a few up just give me a sec.
Holy fuck are you serious
Despite the fact that I agree with you, I hate posts like this. You have no argument
Study 1; Finds snus to be a healthier way to ingest nictotine, cites studies finding no increase risk of oral cancer with snus use. Published & Peer Reviewed by Tobacco Control, which in turn is owned by the British Medical Journal. Published 2003. Study 2; Finds Snus use in stopping smoking to be more effective in stopping smoking ( 45.8% of successful non smokers used snus to quit compared to 26.3% who used nicotine replacement therapy). Cites articles concluding a ~90% reduced health risk compared to traditional tobacco smoking. Published in the Journal of Harm Reduction in 2012. Review; The review of several different studies by The Lancet Oncology Journal. I used my Uni details to look at the full review but you guys can probably only see the abstract. No increased cancer risk was found from smokeless tobacco users from Scandinavia, although it was found for smokeless tobacco users in North America (So chewing tobacco). Pancreatic cancer did have an increased risk, as did oesophageal cancer. Interestingly, there was no increased Pancreatic cancer risk associated with Chewing Tobacco, only with Snus.
There's a guy at the Hospital who works at oral surgery as a front desk clerk, whenever you walk by it in the hallway it reeks of smoke. Yuck, can't stand the residual smoke smell.
Fuck smokers. No I DON'T want to get fucked over by second-hand smoke thank you very much.
So don't stand right next to smokers Problem solved, that was hard huh People who complain about this need a reality check. In these times if you're a capable adult with his freedom you're never going to be trapped where you are forced to inhale cigarette smoke. Sorry to be a bit hostile but you know, its not like we have to walk a minimum of 100ft from any building entrance, or worse, like on campus, in my car, to smoke  and people still actively bitch about it. If you can't see me standing outside smoking before you're inhaling my smoke you need to take the dicks out of your eyes and recheck your idea of personal space. Im not lighting up inside or blowing smoke in your face. You have a right to keep well away. It's not that I'm entitled to smoke where other people are. I try to avoid people that aren't smoking when I am. But it doesn't make anybody entitled to tell me I can't smoke
Cypher acting like smokers are the new black people in the segregation days jesus christ [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline]
Classic entitled smoker, I bet you expect the NHS to foot the bill as well when you get lung cancer or some other smoking related disease, the less smokers are socially accepted the better.
Well, cigarettes are taxed a fuckload at least in Canada so hes gonna pay it himself really. Pretty sure canada wouldnt have roads if not for smokers, keep on smokin
So tonight, when I was out at dinner at TGI Friday's, the couple in the booth behind us decided to start smoking for some reason. Tennessee is a restaurant smoking ban state. They were told off and asked to leave. Seriously, who does that?
Fuckin smokers. The disrespect knows no bounds.wouldnt be surprised if they went home and beat the living shit out of each other and unwinded with a nice puff
So don't stand right next to smokers Problem solved, that was hard huh People who complain about this need a reality check. In these times if you're a capable adult with his freedom you're never going to be trapped where you are forced to inhale cigarette smoke.
I'm so glad we live in a time where the government bans people from smoking wherever they please. If we let people smoke on public transit, places with queues and planes we'd be seeing people do it. This regulation is a godsend. Smokers are so entitled, expecting people to be completely fine with some random guy increasing their risk of cancer. Obviously not all smokers are assholes but give some the freedom to do so and they will do so.
Lighting one up right now, fuck the police.
cant argue with stupid
you don't even say what's wrong with what you are 'arguing' against, you just mock it
asteroid, stop being so direct about the word shit, abyss, stop focusing on the word shit. 'smells like shit' is a common phrase for any awful odor regardless of whether or not it smells like feces smoke smells toxic, irritating, and otherwise repulsive to most non-smokers, end of story. Heavy smokers smell of smoke even when they're otherwise well cleaned up, It's ingrained in clothing, skin, on your breath, in your car, all over the house, and despite you being used to it, it has presence for everyone else.
I love the smell, as a non smoker, to a point at least [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline]
everyone knows vapes are fuckin gay you moron
i convinced my dad to use vapes now he works at a gay bar
If that father was smoking weed and not tobacco, I could imagine discussion in this thread wouldn't be about evil smelly weed smokers, and more about the evil father himself
Tbh I like weed, dont smoke it now, some of it smells amazing, but a lot smells like ass. Mixed with blunts/joints, even more. Vapes are the way to go, doesn't combust the material.
I know this is a popular point to parrot over and over again, but I shower regularly, and clean regularly. You won't know that I smoke unless you SEE me smoking. I don't smell like smoke. How do I know? Because the people I know who are crazy sensitive about it have never said anything about it to me, when they are the exact type of people who would tell me I smell like shit. I smoke in a hoodie that I take off when I'm not smoking. My normal clothes DON'T smell like smoke. It's getting funny to me how simply smoking means, according to Elspin there, you don't shower for a month at a time. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Patches are less than comfortable, every gum I've tried just tastes like shit. The Niccorette spray mist just gives me a horrible headache. I want to try quitting again at some point but most of these methods are less than stellar for me. The E-Cig is how my dad's managed to quit 60 odd years of being a smoker. I'd like to do that myself but it really doesn't satisfy me as of yet.
when i quit smoking i had this really nice gum, habitrol mint. shit was cash. tasty as heck. [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] plus apparently ex smokers like myself are meant to be the most ardent anti smokers but i just quit because i wanted to improve my health. i dont give fucks about anyone else smoking and also dont give fucks about them smoking near me cos i'm not a little asthmatic nerd or pregnant. guess i'm just way more accepting than the rest of you non smokers. for shame. [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] also why is everyone here a scent snob. do none of u do manual labour or work out. bad smells are a part of life stop being cry babies. sheesh [editline]2nd June 2015[/editline] like do you hold ur nose when you take shits?
