So don't stand right next to smokers
Problem solved, that was hard huh
People who complain about this need a reality check. In these times if you're a capable adult with his freedom you're never going to be trapped where you are forced to inhale cigarette smoke.
Sorry to be a bit hostile but you know, its not like we have to walk a minimum of 100ft from any building entrance, or worse, like on campus, in my car, to smoke  and people still actively bitch about it.
If you can't see me standing outside smoking before you're inhaling my smoke you need to take the dicks out of your eyes and recheck your idea of personal space. Im not lighting up inside or blowing smoke in your face. You have a right to keep well away.
It's not that I'm entitled to smoke where other people are. I try to avoid people that aren't smoking when I am. But it doesn't make anybody entitled to tell me I can't smoke
Okay, that's totally fine then. But you're going to have to cater to everyone else's habits. For instance, let's say I've picked up drinking. And I let's say think I should totally be able to hang out wherever I want around anyone I want, anywhere I want, and however I want. I've also decided to stop showering and changing clothes, too, because hey, it's my habits and lifestyle.
Oh, you don't like how I act or smell? Too bad, you should just walk away! It's that simple man. You're a capable, free adult - stop enforcing your unfair bureaucracy on me.
Oh, what's that, you're feeling ill because of my scent? Well some people have asthmatic responses to your smoking. Clearly a man like you wouldn't have any double-standards when it comes to freedom, baby. Hey, and just because you don't like my hilarious podcast doesn't mean that I should stop listening to my favorite bunch of people on my phone's speaker. There's nothing more American than being an entitled asshole in an enclosed area, and you complaining about my habits is oppression! You don't think my brilliant farts are an enforcement of freedom? What an outrage!
That's a disgusting example, but a fair analogy for some people. I don't have a problem with the smell of smoke, but some people do. I used to deal with asthmatic symptoms, but just because I've stopped doesn't mean everyone else is fine and dandy dealing with your shitty habits.
This is my plea to everyone, and I'm being dead serious without the intent of flaming: why don't we all just fuck off? How about we all be courteous to one another and think about others before we do something?
judging by this thread, not only does smoking kill you and your ability to not smell like shit, but it also kills your ability to make posts that aren't dribbling diatribes of "IF I WANT TO SMELL LIKE A DUMPSTER FIRE AND ACTIVELY MAKE WALKING NEAR ME UNPLEASANT, THAT'S WHAT I'LL DO"
I'm a smoker, but I fully recognize it's dangerous and harmful to other people (including myself but I don't care lol). Also the smell is undesirable.
I only smoke outside well away from anywhere it could bother people, and only after I'm done with my social interactions for the day.
The other smokers in this thread are not the norm, at least in my experience. Most smokers I know are considerate and polite about where and when they smoke.
I'm only considerate if the dude is considerate. If he's acting like a little bitch about my smoking I'll tell him off.
Though who would complain about my "smoke"?
Nice one for that
These threads are always funny and interesting because every single fucking non-smoker on this forum is so up their own asses about how to be a smoker is the worst sin of all time. This thread makes us feel practically fucking sub-human, the way you all circlejerk around it. I'm not acting entitled, I'm acting defensive. It's you who are acting entitled, like your personal space is more important than any other's. You're obviously young as fuck or you would know that everyone is entitled. I can damn straight walk down the street with a cigarette if I wanted to. It's legal, nobody cares. If somebody wants to cross the road to avoid the smell, go for it. Don't force your perfect snobbery down my throat though, and I won't inject lung cancer into your bodies (as you act). It's not even that big of a deal, learn to live with each other but you're acting like you have no idea how most adults actually function.
Replace what you're saying with homosexuality "I don't mind what they do in their own homes as long as they don't force me to be there and watch it. It's called respect." No. I have the right to smoke outdoors. I'm not an asshole that goes around smoking in primary school classrooms or in an asthmatic's support group. But if I'm walking anywhere outside, I'll walk with a cigarette, and enjoy it.
Get off your high fucking horses. You cannot imagine how insulting all of this is, and how self-righteous and infuriating your post is, but no, nobody ever gets banned for it. Racism, prejudice, homophobia, political-correctness etc, but woe betide somebody wants to smoke a cigarette.
Homosexuality isn't comparable to smoking. Homosexuality doesn't kill you or the people around you. You're not born a smoker. Everyone that smokes chose to smoke so it's no ones fault besides you own that it's not easy for you to quit. Blame yourself. This is a mild version of what I planned to put since I've only just been unbanned and I don't seen to get banned again.

I read something the other day about the smell of smoker to smokers and non-smokers. Apparently, it's only pleasant to smokers because it acts as a 'trigger' for that person to want a cigarette because it reminds them of the high levels of dopamine that the person had at the time of smoking a cigarette. Might have got that wrong, but I think that's the gist of it.
This is a step in the right direction. I think people should honestly be means tested and allowed to have kids only if they fulfil a criteria. Also make sure they aren't batshit insane or incompetent and will harm the child.

I'm not sure you should be making posts like that, considering where your avatar is most likely from.

I don't understand what you're implying?

You're absolutely right - but like I said, I try to be respectful and I'm not gonna light up in front of someone in public that's not smoking. It's about courtesy and I realize smokers have a bad reputation for it but it's pretty fucking ridiculous to generalize "there's a smoking area over there" into "THIS IS BULLSHIT I HAVE TO WALK AROUND THIS SHIT HOLY FUCKING GOD DAMN"
I know it makes me sound like an asshole and my point isn't I HAVE RIGHTS I CAN SMOKE ANYWHERE I WANT WHENEVER but the limitations on it and people still complaining is a bit over the top to me
Not asking anyone to cater to me, I realize that I am the problem. But I genuinely can't remember the last time I've even smelled a cigarette in public (i've moved on to using a vape to try to ween myself off so I'm pretty sure I'm not just missing the smell from desensitization). Maybe it's not the same everywhere else but in my area of NJ its pretty rare

I think you do

I'm going to ask you to heed your own advice

Because a simple anime avatar is comparable to cropped r34 of a 14-year old girl. Sure thing.
I think you should stop replying to someone who's been banned for being a gimmick

I totally get the general gist of what you're saying - most people in public that I've been around are totally courteous. It's not a widespread epidemic or anything, however there are the odd ones out - some of which used to be in my family (before they thankfully died). I think you came off a bit too strong, which is what I was responding to.
