Mass Effect 2 is free on Origin for a limited time

All the bioware and DLC bullshit aside, Mass effect 2 is one of my fav games of all time tbh
Origin is shit. Shame I have to install it for Titanfall 2 and any good games 'cough' EA makes.

This is the one I was on about, It plays in all of the heroic moments throughout the game.
I still find myself humming it years later, but I can't for the life of me remember anything about the one from mass effect 3, other than the fact I didn't like it.
It's a little thing ive noticed with bioware's games. They did it with dragon age as well, kept a main theme around for the first two games and then swapped it for something completely different with the third.

Origin is quite good
People still complain about Origin?

Yes.

Well that's dumb.
Origin isn't even that bad. It's just a pain in the arse to get older bioware dlc on it.
I just might have to take advantage of this.
Though, I actually haven't played a Mass Effect game since the first one.
I lost interest in playing ME2 after hearing it was more "action focused", but I also keep hearing that it's the best one in the trilogy (never touched ME3 and have no plans to).
Anyone feel like filling me on on why ME2 is good without spoilers?
Origin has better customer service and its refund policy is way better when compared to steam.
Steam just has the upper hand with it having a massive selection of games(which the majority are just garbage shovelware/babby's 1st game/rust copies/games stuck in perpetual beta) and to a lesser extent, having the marketplace where any schmuck can go try to make a quick buck out of their virtual items.
I got it with On The House, and it just gave me a bunch of other Mass Effect 2 stuff, which I assume is the DLC.

It's all the free DLC that was already included with the game at launch.

Years ago, I bought All Points Bulletin, which then failed and folded a couple months after release. I was able to get a compensatory game from EA for it, and figured I'd try Mass Effect out. I couldn't get the first game, so I got the 2nd. It was really good, and got me interested enough to get the 1st game. By that time, I was pretty psyched for ME3 to come out. Preordered, got the special boxed edition, all that jazz. The ending was a letdown, but a non-DLC patch improved it somewhat.
If you were to get any ME3 DLC, I'd recommend Citadel. It's total fanservice, but man is it great.
Nah, the first is the best in the trilogy. The combat really feels like an RPG rather than a normal shooter and is so much more interesting.
I agree
Going to a rather generic cover based shooter really killed my interest in the series.

Characters. They throw a lot more companions at you, and many of them are genuinely unique and interesting.
You can't play the series without saving Wrex.
You just can't.
Well I mean there's a free download that lets you make all those decisions in virtual comic form

I agree you wont quite understand the context though
"P-Please get interested and buy Andromeda! W-we promise, it's not as fucking hot garbage as it looks! PLEASE!"
This is obviously a way of building up hype for their new game, but them building hype doesn't really imply anything about its quality.
Honestly what they've shown of Andromeda looks fine- good even.
It's what they haven't shown that I'm hesitant about.

The virtual comic only covers a small number of 'important' decisions. There are tons of smaller things that are left out.
It's also the fact that a checklist of "What do you want to have happened" doesn't in any way compare to actually seeing how things happen and being a part of it.
