Quick everyone, get him!!!
I've never understood the argument that The Big Bang Theory perpetuates negative stereotypes of nerds.
I mean unless the stereotype for nerds is having high paying careers, a close-knit circle of friends, and supermodel girlfriends sure
it perpetuates it because haha we can still laugh about these nerds look how strange they are and this reinforces anti-intellectual behaviour.
A consequence of this can be seen at every university. Most people don't even care about the stuff they are studying nowadays.
Oh no, it really is that bad. Anyone with at least the amount of brain cells average to the common Redditor knows it too, hence the "mass internet hate."
I read this in Sheldon's voice. The irony makes it more awesome
If you want a summary of BBT's jokes, one time the female protagonist walked into a comic book store and somebody said "is she lost" and that was the joke

I should really do something with this someday

I just assume China is a ban happy censorship.

I imagine it was because of that one episode where Howard teaches Sheldon terrible mandarin so he can complain to the Chinese takeout place. And just shouts gibberish.

Wow. This made me realize that any show that has a laughtrack, when it's removed, the dead silence is just awkward.

The main one I recall they were trying to save a soldier with a perforated aorta and they had a very short amount of time to do it. It actually had a clock constantly ticking down throughout the entire episode as it and was played in real time.

Well that's most likely because they weren't designed around a laughtrack, so no needed for long pauses in the characters talking to each other because some guy said or did a funny.

CBS forced them to incorporate one against the wish of the creators, but for the second season compromised and said they could leave the laugh track out for scenes in the OR. And as the series went out they got to tone it back and go with more subtle laugh tracks.
all for the greater good
