Basically, the Arctic ice sheets have a sort of average summer size and winter size, this year it's hit an all time low for the summer size, and basically if the world gets too warm it'll mean that the peramfrosted seabed will be relatively bare and most importantly, warm enough to melt the Methane Clathrates. This is extremely bad because the seabeds hold a fucking monumental amount of methane, and methane is 8 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2 is.

Basically, if the Methane is released from the oceans, we're fucking toasted, literally.
