Wow, tumblr is really that far down below? Sure doesn't feel like it.
Tumblr is a bit more eclectic than most and the connections between users transcend borders etc, it's going to be less popular because of the former and feel bigger because of the latter. However I really can't see how google+ is so popular unless they've lumped in a bunch of google activity on the whole; no one I know uses google+ and the ones that do have an account created one when it was first opened and never used it again. Sort of like what I did, except I post every few months to say 'wow it's dead here'.
My phone keeps reminding me to update google+. I'm pretty sure I don't actually know anyone that uses it. Edit: Of course I said that right before Facebook really took off too.
uhh guys saying well 300 million people are just using google accounts the survey wasn't "do you have a google account?" it was "do you have a google+ account and visited the social network in the past month"

it was a questionnaire
Nobody I really know uses G+ so I just use Facebook. If more people I knew were to switch I'd consider it.
the only reason why google+ seems dead is because facebook has like a fucking gajillion people on it and you see all the funny [sp]not[/sp] pictures uploaded to your favorite subreddit and to 9gag of silly people on facebook all the time.
What's google+
Oh Myspace. How the mighty has fallen.
What's sad is Myspace is really trying hard to kick it back into business.
it was a questionnaire
oh then this whole survey is invalid
Maybe it's registering "activity" every time I accidentally click one of those god damn +1 buttons
I remember the surge of popularity it had, and when people I know actually used it. But damn did people switch back to FB fast. It was really disappointing, since I convinced a lot of people to join. Towards the end point of before I stopped using G+, I got hooked on the game Millionaire City. My PS3 was broken for sometime, so that was my main gaming entertainment for quite a few months. I got so fucking in to it. It felt so stupid, but I enjoyed it so much.
I deleted my google+ because it wanted to use my name and profile picture on youtube and Google play reviews.
You can just click no when it asks you, and it won't ask you again. If only the same could be said about those "Connect to your friends on Google+!" page that shows up every time I load the site, it's always filled with random people I don't know.
What's sad is Myspace is really trying hard to kick it back into business.
Yeah, new myspace is pretty cool. I wish more people were using it.
People still use orkut?! Edit: Looked it up. Apparently, it's fuckin popular in india and brazil.
I can't take Orkut seriously because it means "orgasms" in finnish. I do have a Google+ account but I think I made it during the beta and haven't used it since. :v:
really surprised it has more than twitter
really surprised it has more than Weibo
It still has way to many tumble weeds.
No wonder, google+ is connected to gmail, youtube and other services. No wonder that they have so many users. Youtube alone has such a shitton of users and accounts.
If it was just counting accounts, then YouTube and Google+ users would be lumped together. It's been pointed out a few times that this wasn't automated, it was a questionnaire.
No wonder, google+ is connected to gmail, youtube and other services. No wonder that they have so many users. Youtube alone has such a shitton of users and accounts.
Read the article and first few posts again.
Didn't they mesh all of gmail / google accounts / youtube accounts into the same thing? Because if they're counting that as 'google+', that explains it.
No, they didn't. It asks you to sign up, but you don't have to.
"active users" eh?
I think it's time I move on from Facebook to Google+
I really hate the way Google+ works with circles and all. Why can't we just keep things simple?
really surprised it has more than twitter
90% of twitter are accounts saying, "Hey guys. First tweet. #TryingNewThings" And never seen again.
I don't understand why China has so many social networks when all they can post is 'The government is great' and '#North Korea is our #friend"
Two of them are video hosting sites, (youku, tudou)
It's interesting how youtube is the third most popular yet g+ is almost the same but a little bit more... Has google really done what I'm thinking right now?
I never used google+ in the first place, but I forced myself to delete my account because there was a load of websites crawling my profile without my permission and I really don't appreciate that because it's an invasion of privacy.. and they were forcing me to use my real life name, which I'd prefer to keep private.
how is active defined?
