Holy shit, is Captain Underpants still a thing? I stopped reading those books years ago...
Why do they keep on butchering our childhoods yikes.
God damn it people read the OP.
One thing is for sure: Captain Underpants is going to be a riot.
I'm not exactly excited for the movie, I'm more excited to see how well they pull it off and more likely how poorly it gets reviewed.
Uh, I'm pretty sure most people read the OP, they just didn't read it under the assumption the author of the article was clairvoyant?

I was being sarcastic, friend.
I can't really see this being a great movie. Descent maybe, however it will never live up to our expectations (the people who have read the books).
As someone who loved the series when I was a child I find great pleasure in informing you all that you're also misogynists for enjoying the series.

i should have known dav was a sexist PIG
Thank fuck this is gonna be animated. Still not too pleased about it existing, but at least you have room to work with animation.

Your childhood memories are still there, even with this movie. So stop using that fucking phrase. I'd hate to be you if a single movie "ruins your childhood".
I was always more of a Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot kid anyway.
...you're joking right?
I am, don't think they are.
Its animated at least.
did the books suddenly get a surge in popularity recently or something? it's been a while since i last saw them getting any media attention :v:
The 6-year-old to whom I'm reading the book -- my son -- laughs because the image of a giant hairy toilet bowl on a murder spree is funny. I cringe and wonder how quickly I can make the book disappear.
she sounds like a pretty boring parent
what did she expect from a series of books that are about boogers, farts and a bald guy who runs around wearing only a cape and underpants, an essay about how sex specific toilets should be abolished or something?
Hahaha oh wow i remember this guy
He's faster than a speeding waistband, more powerful than boxer shorts, and able to leap tall buildings without even getting a wedgie!
Haha I remember those flip-o-rama things!
One time I got carried away and flipped it so fast I ripped the page. :v: It wasn't my book either...

You made me go digging in a box and I still have those books, well not every single one since my mom threw a bunch out or donated them to some school.

Oh wow I had a few of these. Only other books I can think of that I read were Goosebumps and Horrible Histories.
I got a hypno-ring replica from buying one of the books when I was younger and I tried using it
it didn't work though

you realize now that he's gone you can't blame him for the shit posting that happens whenever anything remotely related to feminism comes up
(for example, your post)
I remember one of the Captain Underpants books actually had a mini-story with Hairy Potty, where you got to write in the words and draw your own additions to the panels and flipomatics.
I think I ruined that particular book.
Did they ever release that one book after the portapotty one? I remember it never came out.
...you're joking right?
Of course he's fucking joking lol
Even if it sucks, I'm going to go see it.
The only way I could see a media adaptation of captain underpants work out would be in hand drawn animation and voice actors from codename kids next door.

I can't be the only one who found that show patronizing as a kid?
Hope this isn't horrible.
Plus, there's 2 MORE BOOKS coming out already (source here: http://mediaroom.scholastic.com/press-release/scholastic-publish-two-new-captain-underpants-books-plus-newly-re-illustrated-editions).

I'm going to blame him anyway sorry.
how are they going to bring flip-o-rama technology to a movie? i mean they don't have the technology to animate that stuff
