I highly doubt Russia is going to step out of Crimea into the rest of the Ukraine. But it will be interesting to see how the new government is going to deal with this issue. Because Russia sure as hell isn't backing down, especially with the local support its getting Crimea and back home in Russia.

We have selective service, something all males 18 and over are legally required to sign up for. We haven't had a draft since... Korea? I think, but the selective service rosters are maintained in case of a situation where we need one. I've always heard it as being that the draft would be avoided if at all possible.
