I find it funny how anyone can say hes awesome or anything. The price range of the stuff he sells is enough to turn back and go for anything else. I only got an iPod nano 2gb from like 6 years ago. It still works, even though it crashes sometimes. Sure, I wouldn't mind having an iPhone or a new iPod or something, but I probably wouldn't buy anything like that unless I really needed it, which would be kinda hard anyway, unless for the iPod. If it weren't for iTunes, it would actually be my favourite player, and phones don't usually do it for me. As for all the rest of their shit, its over priced stuff that you could get alot cheaper and probably better elsewhere.

You really can't say that they'd have done better doing it the other way. Jobs WANTED that proprietary nature of the computers and figured that would make him more money because he'd be forcing people into pre packaged computers. I'm not totally sure if you were arguing that point, but either way, it's something people have to realize.
