It's not like he invented wifi synchronisation. It's a feature that has been available in other mobile OS for a long time.

maybe you should do some research into this before you post about it. the app was deleted from the app store because it went again the guidelines. it used an exploit through safari, you'd visit a url and it'd enable the volume button to be used as a button. it wasn't an actual feature in the app until you used the exploit.
and you guys say "fuck jobs", you act like every aspect of iOS is all his idea. he allowed it, sure, because it's a new feature he can show off. not specifically to fuck over developers and shit.
[editline]11th June 2011[/editline]
also he got a good 10 seconds of clapping after he announced it
What people seem to be forgetting is that the creator of wifisync was selling it for $9.99, that's a rip off in my opinion. And if anyone should have fingers pointed at them for nicking ideas, it should be the creator of wifisync, other mobile OS's had this feature and he then put it into iOS.
Anyway I don't agree that either apple or Hughe's should be blamed for stealing ideas. Wifisync is a logical step forward in a mobile operating system and its hardly stealing an idea if Apple decide to implement it even if this bloke had done it for the jailbreaking community.
Another thing is that the guy sold more than 50,000 copies of that software at $9.99 a pop, that's quite a hefty sum, he should stop moaning and be happy with the money he has considering his tweak was worth $0.99 max.
Apple is the Activision of the Hardware world.
Apple is the Activision of the Hardware world.
I'd say they are worse than Activision as they actually control entire platforms
Although it's pretty much true, why does Apple treat their userbase like a bunch of kids?
potentially resulting in user confusion.”
Every god damn Apple news thing I see does stuff like that.
Cut it out, Jobs.
Nobody would really be that bothered if it was like a minor changelog thing that you'd find out about when you launched the camera, but flaunting it like that as a new feature is a bit of a dick move.
They're a billion dollar company.. the least they could do is give the original creators a percentage of their revenue..
I wonder why people still defend Apple after all the shit they have done - do you see any other hardware or software company pull this kind of shit WEEKLY?
They're a billion dollar company.. the least they could do is give the original creators a percentage of their revenue..
That's not how business works
especially not for small features like that
[editline]cake[/editline]
Yes, this is a massive dick move, but is it illegal? No. The wifi sync application could stand a chance in court because of the logo, but the camera one wouldn't really.
Another reason why I chose an android device, apart from all iOS has over Android is smooth animations and shininess. Android still has far more functionality and practicality.
Maybe YOU should do some research and know that safari "exploit" is no exploit at all, All it does is enable the hidden feature through a shortcut ( cameraplus://enablevolumeshutter/ ).
when i said exploit, i didn't mean exploit as you normally would, i should have used another word. but again, it's against the guidelines.
New from Apple Games, iSnabbo
Putting someone else's features in their shit is called marketing. Removing the competition is dickish, yes, but the features themselves aren't anything to get worked up over.
this is really nothing to get all worked up over
Maybe YOU should do some research and know that safari "exploit" is no exploit at all, All it does is enable the hidden feature through a shortcut ( cameraplus://enablevolumeshutter/ ).
So it's more like:
Someone uses feature Apple decided not to use yet.
Developer makes app using said feature not knowing if it's against regulations.
Apple pulls app unless altered.
App is put back on without the feature.
Apple releases their own original feature.
And then shitstorm online.
I remember when everyone saw Apple as the "indie" alternative to corporate Microsoft.
I remember when everyone saw Apple as the "indie" alternative to corporate Microsoft.
when you see me ranting about microsoft again remind me that I hate apple even more
Yeah not really, But saying "fuck apple xD" is pretty stupid and immature, Replying a message because of a Rating is also immature, It's good that these features are getting streamlined but it's still a dick move that Apple is just ripping off the developers
You are dumb, therefor I rated you it.
I want somebody to have an in-depth interview with Jobs and demand answers for their action. In our current state the Government has some regulation over companies to prevent trusts and monopolies or unfair business actions so why the hell wont ours do this!
And then this will bring up the well supported theory that the Government is in favor of the big companies... I hate apple because of this and always will if they don't change their ways.
One more reason I don't want to give apple money products are fine but pricing and corporate strategy make me sad
this is really nothing to get all worked up over
You say this every time apple does something shitty
You say this every time apple does something shitty
nope when apple said they were releasing a new version of the iphone i said fuck you because they just released a new one
so no zeke these aggressions will not stand, man
This is an example of why I do not really like apple. Yes they make great products, but they are often overpriced, and I find the system feels at best restricting. Then there things that pop up such as these, and the fact for the mobile devices (unless jail broken) you more or less have to go through apple.
Hes got cancer and should be dead soon, another "idiot" off this planet.
-maybe a bit too harsh :/
Hes got cancer and should be dead soon, another idiot off this planet.

I want to make this clear. I agreed to you saying that was too harsh. I respect Jobs greatly as an engineer and as a businessman, but not as a person.
[source]
You know why I hate Apple? This is why. Not their products, but their actions. I actually quite like their products, but how they treat their customers and business partners is just evil.
Wouldn't it be interesting if the only way they were able to come up with cool products is by exploiting people? :allears:
Damn you, Apple. Why?
Just Apple being Apple.
