of course there is going to be a double standard. as much as people want it to be for some reason, people aren't a race of uniform beings that are all the same. the difference between males and females is very great, especially mentally. sayin "just think if it was brad pitt touching a little girl" is comparing apples to rotten oranges.
being a little boy or a little girl doesn't change the weight of molestation
being a little boy or a little girl doesn't change the weight of molestation
i never said it did
I hope she's punished accordingly (and equally, none of that double standard shit) assuming these allegations are true.
Do people not have have the inherent ability to process the fact that women may have a sex drive?
How the hell are you inferring this from some bad jokes about boys getting touched by older women?
no, people who seriously think rape is ok should be banned

I didn't realize tastelessness was a bannable offense. Why is the LMAO pics thread still around?

I love that this forum generally advocates freedom of speech but is willing to ban people for making tasteless jokes that most of the time arent a reflection of their serious opinion.
Brilliant.
This. These bans might as well be the rape/feminism equivalent of TH89's infamous "racism" bans. Getting a bad vibe all over again.

I imagine she will be treated no differently. It's fairly rare that that happens. What it comes down to usually is intent and harm, which will be discussed later in court. Also, some jurisdictions have mandatory minimum sentencing for statutory.
There's also an actual proverb that says "The price of apathy is to be ruled by evil men."
Those who have no concerns about important matters will generally do little to improve themselves or the disposition of others, allowing shit like this to pass off as unimportant. That's why rape jokes and other kinds of dumb jokes are bad, because you're basically telling everyone that it isn't a serious issue and they shouldn't worry about it.
Plato - "The price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." Your quote is quite out of context, but I understand what you were trying to say.
I agree with the sentiment but I think you're overreacting. Several of the posters may have meant what they said in a more general sense, but I think it more likely they only considered the scenario from their perspective. I doubt there is any malice in what they say; at worst, ignorance and/or stupidity.
If you think someone's opinion is bad, then try to argue with him in order to change it
If someone went to General Discussion and started a thread "Why I think Jews should die" his opinion would got raped realy quickly by people there, via discussion
I see what you're saying and as you can see, I agree with you... but honestly a "Jews should die" thread is very likely trolling. I suppose what it would come down to is was it more of an essay or "JEWS SHOULD BURN LEL"

I don't think it's out of context, yeah I might have missed some words but is retains largely the same meaning, which is that ignorance to important issues (aka public affairs) will lead to genuinely evil people getting away with their malice and eventually ruling over you.
I agree with you, it's ignorance, not malice. My post wasn't directed at those "lucky kid" posts, it was mostly aimed at the people who go "chill out it's not a big deal" in these discussions, I probably should've been worded that better. But yeah, I don't think we disagree here.
