one of my friends has that galaxy note 2 or whatever, and the fucker's huge
i have pretty massive hands, yet i struggled to hold that behemoth rectangle
why are these things so huge
where they serve the double purpose of being a phone and a tablet.
no shit
Perhaps they should actually make quality hardware instead of flooding the market with half baked crap.
Market now has head trauma from getting hit in the head by a gigantic phone.
If you don't understand the point of these you must be pretty dense. I wouldn't want one myself but their function is pretty obvious. It is for people who don't want to have to buy a phone and a tablet separately. It isn't trying to replace the regular sized smartphone, it is just providing an alternative.
In would assume that getting a Bluetooth headset would be a really good idea with these.
I'd be marginally interested if it wasn't for the bland, ugly shape. I know they've got Apple up the ass every time they make a new phone but Nokia also makes rectangle-shaped phones and they manage to create gorgeous, original designs.
this defeats both the point of tablets and phones at once
I don't think I'd mind the size personally if I didn't have to carry my phone around in my pocket at all times. My iPhone takes up enough space in my pocket.
I think those Phablets are mainly for people who travel a lot. On a train or plane, you might not want a full sized tablet, but something smaller, but still bigger than your usual phone.

i got my note 2 in november and to be honest at this point my phone feels "normal" to me. i can still use the keyboard with one hand (without using the built-in "one handed" feature), mainly cause i use swiftkey. my phone still fits comfortably in all my pockets, even with my otterbox.
now whenever i hold anyone else's phone I feel handicapped

I can't help thinking that phones are going to get bigger and bigger until they turn into tablets and then continue to grow until they are the size of laptops and everybody praises them as "the next big thing oo ahh" when they literally become the desktop PCs we've had for ten years.
Why does it have to be so big? I remember not too long ago every company was trying to make the smallest and now it's the biggest? I want my phone to be portable, not fucking massive.

No I don't think it even has a release date.
Ugh, this phone looks awful, and not just because of the screen size. The actual resolution on it is much worse, the screen has an awful dpi. The screen is 225ppi, which is well below every other flagship phone on the market, and has been for over a year. If we can judge the rest of the phone with the screen dpi, it's likely pretty underpowered.
though I bet it has killer battery life with that size.

5.5 weeks in standby on 3G, roughly equivalent to what a modern smartphone gets in standby if apps aren't waking it
I don't think there are even phones like the 301 and 105 sold in the US are they?
I'll laugh when Apple releases a 6.3-inch iPad Micro, and Samsung releases a 7.9-inch Galaxy Giga.
Why are people mad about this, it's a slightly smaller 7-inch tablet that happens to be able to make phone calls
but
a massive company broadened their catalogue with a device I personally see no use for
it makes me

Guys trust me these can be fantastic. I love my galaxy note, no matter how stupid big it is. I use it as both a tablet, (web browsing, youtube, movies) and a phone (calling, 3g, texing). Really, if you have large enough pockets then it's fine. also i'm 6ft 5 so iphones all seem tiny and silly in comparison now.
the only thing that revs me up more are people peeling banana from the bottom end
last time I have seen that I got a heart stroke and spent three months in hospital
