please don't ban me
there were plenty of other people besides me calling out nonsense i just happened to be the first to make a zinger in this thread
Both speeches are vague and uninspired
except michelle delivered it a hundred times better
Don't you know? Every gaffe in the trump campaign is all part of the political mind games . They are just pretending to be retarded [editline]19th July 2016[/editline] For what its worth the trump campaign said she totally didn't plagiarize and this is all Clintons fault somehow
The only plot twist I need now is for him to drop out in October just to prove that the GOP are idiots.
RNC Chair memos 2020 edition: "Please submit your convention speeches to turnitin.com no later than 11:59 PM Sunday evening."
"Trump was right, immigrants really are stealing everything from hard working Americans" (saw it on twitter)
"Trump was right, immigrants really are stealing everything from hard working Americans" (saw it on twitter)
At least his wife came here legally [editline]19th July 2016[/editline]
except michelle delivered it a hundred times better
probably a lot easier to deliver a speech when English is your first language
Sorry you must have meant "probably a lot easier to deliver a speech when you make it yourself" Like come on
Except the words people claim Melania stole from Michelle aren't even Michelle's own words: they're from a book called Business Success in South Africa.
"you work hard" is hardly a phrase that was created in 1992, neither is 'your word is your bond' both are common/stock phrases that have existed for a while but the words around those phrases are what make this seem like copying.
Except the words people claim Melania stole from Michelle aren't even Michelle's own words: they're from a book called Business Success in South Africa.
this just in: "your word is your bond" was invented by some book in 1992 and everyone who has ever used it since then is strictly referencing that book
Except the words people claim Melania stole from Michelle aren't even Michelle's own words: they're from a book called Business Success in South Africa.
actually, the conspiracy runs even deeper. It turns out that Michelle's entire speech, and in fact every speech from the democratic party ever, was just a remix of this book
this just in: "your word is your bond" was invented by some book in 1992 and everyone who has ever used it since then is strictly referencing that book
So we agree that its a common generic phrase and not plagiarism?
probably a lot easier to deliver a speech when English is your first language
it's not just that, it's a couple of minor word changes that don't have to do with speech, like "that you keep your promise" instead of "that you do what you say you're going to do", though i suppose that might be on whoever wrote it
Except the words people claim Melania stole from Michelle aren't even Michelle's own words: they're from a book called Business Success in South Africa.
do you seriously think people are upset because they think michelle obama invented the phrase "your word is your bond"? do you really think that's what the issue is here? [editline]19th July 2016[/editline]
So we agree that its a common generic phrase and not plagiarism?
no, using the phrase isn't plagiarism directly copying several lines verbatim from the other person's speech is plagiarism
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/QiPr3Lr.jpg[/IMG_thumb] e: confirmed fake
Fucking lol I fell for it, yeah the Obama tweet was fake. God damn you social media.
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/QiPr3Lr.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Come the fuck on, Trump.
Come the fuck on, Trump.
(its a joke) [editline]19th July 2016[/editline] wait is it?
(its a joke) [editline]19th July 2016[/editline] wait is it?
No :v: Edit: Correction, yes it's a joke. http://www.snopes.com/trump-copies-tweet/
No :v:
Is the Obama one real or fake?
The Obama one is probably fake though. It follows Trump's tweet pattern.
Is the Obama one real or fake?
Obama one is probably fake. Nothing comes up when I search for it, It says it's from Jul 19 (with a changed year), the same as Trump's post, and both say it was posted at 12:14 AM.

just goes to show guys, be wary of pictures of tweets and stuff, they are easily fabricated. link directly to them instead
Melania probably had a speech writer and has never even seen the original speech. From what I can gather she's meant to be quite clever and speaks five languages. Then again, she's married to Trump...
Congratulations, she's still a talentless idiot. [editline]19th July 2016[/editline] I mean the fact she couldn't even be bothered to write her own speech, much less review it like she should have ahead of time to where this issue would have been noticed sooner, just proves the lack of effort she put into this and lack of skill at preparing/delivering speeches.
Congratulations, she's still a talentless idiot. [editline]19th July 2016[/editline] I mean the fact she couldn't even be bothered to write her own speech, much less review it like she should have ahead of time, goes to show her lack of effort and skill.
i dont really support attacking first ladies, these speaches are canned long ahead of time, i think whoever wrote the speech should be the one attacked not his wife on a side note though i cant understand the hypocrisy of people who insult michelle obama for being talentless and unbecomming of her (unnofficial) office when trumps wife is even less accomplished
i dont really support attacking first ladies, these speaches are canned long ahead of time, i think whoever wrote the speech should be the one attacked not his wife
She's not a first lady, and she will not be a first lady at this rate. Having said that, she deserves to be attacked all the same for this. She's an old model who markets herself now as a "fashion designer"... what was she doing with her time that was so important that she couldn't be assed to write a speech on her own? It's really not hard, unless you lack originality I mean.
So we agree that its a common generic phrase and not plagiarism?
Michelle's speech was not plagiarism because she used a common phrase. Melanias speech is plagiarism because she copied several lines, word for word, from Michelle. Does that make sense to you? Its pretty clear to me.
WOw a slovenian jewelry designer turns out to be poor at american politics
It's almost like she has no business getting involved in them in the first place...
It's almost like she has no business getting involved in them in the first place...
shes the wife of a presidential candidate. she has to.
Congratulations, she's still a talentless idiot.
... Actually, no she isn't. She's been a jewelry designer for awhile and she did (at the very least) make an attempt to study architecture before putting all her effort into her modeling career.
She's not a first lady, and she will not be a first lady at this rate. Having said that, she deserves to be attacked all the same for this. Seems a little sexist to dismiss her "as an old model" like she's somehow used up. I'm not accusing you of actual sexism but this statement by itself does look a little bad.
