Trigger warning: GTA Online mod lets you r*pe other players - Polidicks

I want to say this is funny but only because of the fact that Rockstar somehow made this possible, not the act itself. I figure the act would be annoying pretty quick and might frighten people. Hell, if I was playing a game and I was suddenly virtually raped I'd probably close out of the game as soon as possible. But, seriously, how and why is this possible? I did read the article and saw that they're inappropriately reusing animations, but that doesn't answer all of the how and it definitely doesn't answer the why.

But this is an exploit and it isn't endorsed by the Rockstar and it will probably split the community on whether it's appropriate or not. It's people killing other people, one of the most heinous acts to exist and it's allowed and even encouraged! It's part of the game, not just an exploit. When I think of all those people who have been murdered in the past, and all of those people who have had to live with those they love having been murdered and even the people who were almost murdered, I struggle to understand just how Rockstar can be so insensitive and make a game about such a serious act. You just... shouldn't be able to go into a game and murder another player, it's a grave violation of someone's right to life and it has no place in a game like GTA.

As an poster above said, it's pointless to go into an argument about murder vs rape, and it's pointless to argue the morality of actions done to fictional characters even if those fictional characters are under your control. The exploit should be removed but I see no issue with it living on in private servers.

I'm not going to be doing anything about them but it's hard to say, "Yup! That's acceptable because this game has murder in it."

It's hypocritical to be able to enjoy fictional murder but then be offended by fictional rape. Murder in games can be both very dark and very lighthearted. Can rape also be very dark or very lighthearted? Looking at this mod, yes, absolutely, scarcely a hint of darkness in the "rape" in this mod, it's very slapstick and pretty amusing. I really do struggle to see how rape is darker than murder when they're both approached with the same level of seriousness. You say, having an interest in rape is very troubling, I would agree. I would also posit that having an interest in murder is similarly troubling. Still one is fine the other is not and I struggle to understand why. You may say as you have said before, rape is darker than murder. And it is true that rape is often darker than murder, but because it's been made that way rather than by nature being a darker act. Take a game like Monster Girl Quest, it's an extremely lighthearted game which is pretty much 95 percent rape. If you're going to put dark rape content into a lighthearted murder game, then sure it doesn't fit. But as I have already said, the rape added in this game is just foolish, it's very jokey, not dark at all. Shouldn't be in the game because it's a big exploit but if you can laugh at murder in jest, why not at rape in jest?

It's VERY specifically the objective. murder is objectively meaningless in GTA as you'll just respawn and done
